Making room for Ramsey

I really like what I’ve seen of Ramsey and appreciate he had a fantastic second half against Swansea… but….
I actually preferred the way we played before he came in, with Forss on the Right and Mcgree on the left. I thought some of the link up play between the front 4 was a lot more fluid and we looked so dangerous every tine we went forward. I hope with time he changes my mind but sometimes I think we should of kept the winning team and used Ramsey as an impact sub

Agree i think mcgree is not at the same level on the right. Maybe the should swap sides in games if they are not getting any joy.

I agree. I think we are better balanced with Forss on the right and McGree or Ramsey on the left. Forss and Archer can both run the channels when we need to be more direct while McGree and Akpom tend to stay on their side of the pitch. McGree loses some effectiveness on the right.

Ramsey is certainly a fantastic option to have. I've been impressed not just by his attacking play but his defensive work as well. McGree is possibly slightly ahead of him right now but Ramsey looks like he'll overtake him.

I think the way Carrick plays he likes the right mid to keep the width, and the left mid to roam all over.

McGree and Ramsey obviously both prefer the roaming role, but i think Ramsey is the one who could play on the right better than McGree. He has the pace and athleticism

I think this allows Giles to use the space, whereas Smith tends to be less adventurous on the other side.

They're both terrific players, but very different too.

McGree is great in tight situations, Ramsey great running with the ball. A huge oversimplification I know, both have much more to their hand than this.

We looked better today with Forss playing on the right and Mcgree on his natural left side, he doesn't look comfortable or as effective when playing on the right hand side, to accommodate playing Ramsey on the left.
And there lies the problem and a difficult choice for Carrick to have, Ramsey is a special player and looks a real threat on his natural left hand side, so does Mcgree, and both are not as effective when playing on the right, so can both play in the same team?

I've said it before and the TV commentators said the same thing today - the way that Akpom, McGree and Forss / Ramsey move around behind Archer is brilliant - dropping into midfield, popping up alongside the strikerm and out wide. It must be a nightmare to defend against. I like Forss, but I can see why Ramsey has been given a run of games ahead of him, even if I was unsure about him at the start.

Forss puts in a real shift, and is a good finisher. We would all be absolutely raving about him any other season, but understandbly Akpom and Archer are getting the headlines at the moment.

We have a strong squad in those positions, especially when you throw Crooks into the mix as well (I thought we really missed having Crooks available in the Stoke game) .

Anyway - I am now rambling - sorry.

Forss is getting better and better. Ramsey is awesome but on the right side it needs to be Forss for me. He is quick, direct and never misses the target.
