Major conspiracy theorist ….lied.

What's that conspiracy? Haven't seen that one?

@FabioPorkpie these suckers you refer to, did they once say at the launch of the vaccine program that it didn't prevent transmission? "Get yourself vaccinated to protect others" I believe was one of the selling points. That's what made me get the vaccine three times.

Pfizer were certainly saying it helped reduce transmission. Well up until the director of said company admitted early this week that they didn't test the vaccine's ability to prevent transmission. So threats of no jab no job, no social life, vaccine passports, threats of removal from society, all based on a lie.

That said, the vaccine has done good things and saved lives. Pfizer dodged a bullet there.

Bang on cue.
Absolutely tragic.
Mate, honestly. I can’t do it anymore. I can’t believe you are still falling for this stuff and pushing it out there. Do you ever look at the responses to the guff the grifters you follow put out? Most of the nonsense you fall for is debunked, corrected, ripped to shreds literally straight away. This became a complete non-story days ago!
You’d save yourself a lot of embarrassment by just looking a bit further, listening to BOTH sides and gaining some capacity for critical thought.
I say that, but you are still unaware that you are being manipulated so there is no embarrassment. Which is why its tragic, after all the help people have tried to give you, trying to point you in the right direction so many times. I genuinely am trying to help you out here, again.

Anyway, crack on, I’m done. But before I go, please read this thread through completely, including the links within it. It answers everything you’ve asked above, and more. It’s one of many many answers that destroy that post of yours.
It may well go some way to showing you what it is you really need to see. I know the actual science stuff and truth is sometimes dry, boring and unsensational, but honestly, it’s really important to look at it too, once someone on social media claims to have ‘bombshell’ news for the world. Please, just read it. If you do, it’s impossible not to come to a conclusion that differs from the question you raise. So at that point, please reassess the level of faith and trust you place in the person who spun that ‘bombshell’ news about the Pfizer trial.

It was also actually stated in the original Pfizer published trial protocol, that transmission data was not collected.
Transmission data came in the months after, from other massive real world trials. The Pfizer Director really said nothing that wasn’t already widely acknowledge, despite what the opportunist antivax loons and grifters want their followers to believe.

In all honesty, the near £billion pound award isn't anywhere near enough punishment for Jones. The pain and trauma that he's put those poor families through deserves to see him taken out of society. As it is he'll just be more careful about picking his targets before peddling his bile.
Hopefully his lawyers mistakenly handing over the contents of his phone implicates him in the January 6th plot and he sees criminal charges and incarceration.

So the account of the actual director (again it was found on a trending topic on twitter), I believe to do with COVID hearings in Europe isn't what I actually said?
Are you saying that the get vaccinated to protect others headlines never happened?
It's a fact that some people took the vaccine willingly (like myself) some were coerced into taking it (those who's social activities were threatened by it due to a lack of vaccine and therefore no travel abroad for example) and those who were forced to take it to protect their jobs (care workers for example).

All I'm saying is there was a better way to roll out the vaccines. Coercion and threats weren't the right way. There would have been a higher take up and shorter timescale to end of the brunt of the pandemic without the those two things.

As it is it's pretty academic now anyways, people like you and me have done our bit, protected ourselves and lessened the burden on a mismanaged and poorly funded and poorly supported at a government level NHS and life goes on back to its state of normality pre pandemic.

Oh and so you don't get it twisted, Alex Jones is a 🛎️🔚 who was only ever interested in selling his 'pharmaceutical' products. Ironic I feel.

Personally I think regardless of whether or not the vaccine stopped transmission they should still bring in passports. Reason being anti vaxxers are all absolute melts. Would be great being able to go somewhere and know you aren't going to come into contact with a bunch of doyles.
I think everyone can get on board with that idea

What I’m saying is what the Pfizer director said wasn’t news worthy, or some sort of secret prior to then. It was stated in the trial protocol, regarding not collecting transmission data. The antivax gangs have jumped on it as if it is something significant, when it is not.
I am also saying that following commencement of vaccine rollout, real world trials most certainly did show that they were effective to some level in presenting transmission of the original strains. Likewise, trials also showed the efficacy against transmission did wane in time, a matter of months (unfortunately less time than we would have liked) However, a reduction in severity/symptoms also leads to a reduction in transmission, because if you aren’t sneezing and coughing and snorting as frequently as you would otherwise be, it follows that you aren’t shedding as much virus all over the joint. Therefore its natural to conclude you are less infectious in terms of secondary attack rate (less being the key word, as you are still infectious) Anyway, that’s briefly what the many trials showed and I hope that makes sense. Obviously as the virus evolved into omicron and beyond, efficacy against transmission became less and less, although hopefully the new bivalent, omicron tailored vaccines will show an uptick in that efficacy, and I believe early real world studies may show early results soon. Fingers crossed.

I’m not sure there was a better way to roll out the vaccines in honesty. It was an unprecedented crisis and for all the fault of the Government, the vaccine procurement and rollout is something that they, with the army of volunteers and NHS, on the whole, got right.
I agree that coercion and threats were counterproductive, and domestic vaccine passport talk sat very uneasy with me. Education and information were important but it is very difficult when there is so much misinformation and data misreprenotation pushed out so easily across social media by grifters, antivax opportunists, self-publicising contrarian click baiters etc..

👍 Absolutely. He should be doing some very long jail time. The likes of him are a real problem in the social media age.

They need to teach critical thinking in schools. Both here and the states. It's staggering how many people are completely incapable of it and just take things at face value.

The internet is an incredible tool, but it's also a very dangerous one. Alex Jones is a perfect, very obvious example. But there's plenty of others.

Appreciate for the Tories it suits their interests not to have people question too much the guff they get fed, but labour should really be looking at this once they get into power.

A lot of the damage that has been and is still being done to this country can be linked back to a lack of critical thinking skills amongst large parts of the electorate.
Could this 'critical thinking' business be written on the side of a bus and driven around the country perhaps?

I enjoy our debates Fabio, we think differently on lots of things but I think ultimately we both have the same goal in mind, just different ways of getting there.

Don't mistake me for anti vax nonsense, I'm the only one in my household with three shots of the stuff. But a wiser man than me once said, you cannot follow science blindly, science should always be questioned, it's how we advance it.
