Lumley liability. It’s been coming….

How is Brynn getting on since he returned from Scotland? He was really rated by QOTS who seem to know how to pick a good Boro player and won player of the month just before he left. We have to be getting him ready to at least be on the bench surely!

Nothing to do with diplomacy or man management, it is an accurate and fair analysis of the mistakes that led to the goal.

Really? You thought Daniels was better.

Lumley is a bog average tier 2 keeper. Marshall has a rick in him as we saw at the Euros and mis kicked a couple last night and got away with them. Playing it out from the back will always highlight the frailties of a keeper's skill with his feet. Our best keeper in the Riverside years was, without doubt, Mark Swartzer. Can you imagine asking Skippy to play the role that Lumley does? 😱
No it’s definitely diplomatic. Lumley even gets in under control and had time to clear without an issue. The pass was never on in a million years. In that position there was only one thing that should have been done. A big hoof.

If you can’t see Lumley is at fault then I’m not sure what to tell you. And it’s not isolated, it’s every game but most of the time he gets away with it.

If you can't understand what Wilder said then...

The player having the worst game last night was Dijksteel who was also "to blame" for the goal. Yes, Lumley should have put his laces through it but as CW said there is team responsibility for that goal not one man.

There is an awful lot of confirmation bias in those who thought we needed to buy a keeper in January, expect a mistake, look for a mistake - see a mistake. Djiksteel (for example) made several howlers last night, if it was a keeper making that many mistakes it would have been a defeat, not a defeat, an absolute pasting.

Dijksteel was not to blame for the goal at all.
You can take any goal back and find things that could have been avoided if you go back far enough.
The truth is Lumley was not under pressure and spectacularly screwed up.
Wilder can't publicly call it like it is, but the rest of us can.

Confirmation bias is pushing it a bit.

I’m not “looking” for a mistake. They are clear for all to see. I can think of two bad ones at Man Utd too but I guess they were other peoples fault too. He’s made them all season.

I accept players make mistakes and keepers get punished more than most but it’s too often and usually pretty glaring.

He won’t be our number one next season regardless of what Wilder says in public. He knows his onions.
