Luke Thomas ….

I thought he was okay to poor, he got beaten multiple times. Luckily he’s quick off the mark to make up for his mistakes. I wouldn’t be against signing him but I doubt we will.

I think he's a better defender than Engel, but then again my standard lamp is too.

The fact he's played so many games since arriving tris me we'll look to sign him, but in any case I think Bangura will be the first pick in that position.

I have a feeling we are going to try to sign him.

He's been getting plenty of game time to have a good look at him. He's young enough for a decent coach (Carrick) to progress and get better. He seems to be getting a bit of stick. I'm not sure why?

He's so much experience for his age. I can see us going for Ayling / Thomas and O'Brien. You'd say all 3 would be decent. Also gives us some continuity going into next season. Instead of 5-6 getting used to the league and new mates etc.

Thomas has done ok the last few games, just feel there is other significant positions that need filling…Bangura and Engel are good enough for next season?

I've seen enough of Engel to decide that he isn't good enough to be starting for a team with aspirations to get promoted. Think he's a squad player at best.

Bangura is a funny one. Looks great going forward and he's performed well after coming on in the last two homes games, but we have to put it into context and say that he came on when we were up against a Leeds side who were happy for us to have the ball as they aimed to defend their lead. I'm still unsure on whether he's going to be up to it defensively.

I'd be looking to sign a new LB this summer, loan out/sell Engel, and then I'd allow Bangura the opportunity of battling for his place.

All three left-backs are a bit iffy in different ways. I'd probably vote for Bangura on the basis that our narrow system needs full-backs who pose a threat and he looks well-equipped on that score. Or maybe, it's just because I've seen less of him.

Engel & Thomas have both looked like serious weak links at times though.

Not a supporter of signing Thomas on a permanent deal. He will be on premier league wages and definitely not seen anything in his performances that makes me feel I would love to have him in the side next season. A steady Eddie with a mistake in him and not great pace. No better than what we have. Compare him to Ayling and his impact and you get chalk and cheese.

He's apparently on £15k.
He signed his contract when he was 19 with 3 appearances.

£15k sounds plausible.

Thomas signed his first Senior Contract in 2020 , making his Premiership debut against Sheffield United, providing an assist for one of the two goals in the 2-0 win. He scored his first goal in the Prem against Man Utd at Old Trafford, where Leicester hadn't won in 23 years. He's played in the Europa League, won the Community Shield [v Man City], the FA Cup [v Chelsea] and made 56 appearances for Leicester in the top flight. Furthermore, he's played at every level from U17`s for England and had made 5 appearances for the England U21`s until 2023. Brendan Rogers froze him out as he stuck with the team, which was eventually to lead to relegation. Thomas ended up going to Sheffield United because he wanted more time playing football, but his only choice at the time was to accept a loan away from King Power. I think Carrick has rescued him. You don't normally win those medals and play in Europe before you're 21 if you're not up to scratch.

Thomas has obviously regressed to some degree, seen it a few times when young players get game time in the premier league and get carried by there team mates to a degree

Paddy McNair was similiar for Man Utd

Problem is they then get that salary and when their parent club lets them go they have a value of their own self worth
