Luke Ayling Medical this morning

I didn't realise he had a stammer until I heard him on a few YouTube clips today. Absolute respect for fronting himself to interviews as it must be so difficult!
Fantastic bit of experience in a priority position, as soon as I seen us linked he was my right back of choice. Delighted he's here

I liked him in that documentary about Leeds a couple of years ago. He came across well. It was the major turning point in helping me get over my immature "I automatically hate all players from rival clubs" mindset.
Only natural FB.

Yesterday I dispised the dirty Leeds liability with a stupid bun on his head.

Now we've signed him on loan, I 'kin love the cultered no nonsense attacking defender with sylish looks.

lol reminds me of this gem

Captain Darling:
So you see, Blackadder, Field Marshall Haig is most anxious to eliminate all these German spies.

General Melchett:
Filthy hun weasels, fighting their dirty underhand war!

Captain Darling:
And fortunately, one of our spies...

General Melchett:
Splendid fellows, brave heroes risking life and limb for Blighty!

I was shocked when we were linked with him as he didn’t really fit the “model” but as a loan until the end of the season I think it’s a great move. He’s got experience and is a leader, and probably more importantly it’s a position we have been desperate for reinforcements in.

As someone who suffered with a stammer when I was younger I have nothing but respect for him, and my opinion of him changed a few years ago when I found out he struggles with a stammer. Mine still makes an appearance occasionally, and it’s more a case of falling down a hole with it in that once it starts it’s hard to get out of it. Also tends to make an appearance when I’ve had a skin full.

Look at the impact Tommy smith has had an I expect Luke to offer something similar.

Great addition

Potentially excellent loan signing - our defence is not as mean as it should be - look at number of goals conceeded over the last 18 months. He is certainly as good as Lenihan and Smith.

If his leeds contract expires at the end of the season why havent we just taken it on? (Probably Premier League wages)

We'll be missing both him and Greenwood when Leeds come to town

Preconceptions. Ashamed to say I had them with him. Thought he was a complete nob based on nothing other than his haircut / way he looks and that he played for Leeds.

Seems like a nice lad from the interviews on mfc and above on this thread. I didn’t know he had a stammer or about the struggles for him that have come with it. Humbled regarding my previous thoughts on him based on nothing at all by watching those interviews.

Reminder/Lesson (for me): remember not to judge a book by its cover. Be kind to all in the first instance until they prove you wrong.

Apologies Luke. I hope you enjoy your time with us and that it is a successful period in your career.
