Luke Ayling interview

The second comment on this thread. There was a comment yesterday too on a different thread.

Also people on Facebook. Just bang out of order in my opinion.
I wasn't making fun of him.

I didn't know he had a speech impediment but assumed after hearing the interview.

My comment was referring to his accent.

Nice lad by all accounts - always been one of Leeds best players whenever I’ve watched him play. I’d put him straight into the side on Saturday personally.

No, I believe people didn’t know before they watched the interview. Just find it hard to believe people saying they still didn’t know after watching the interview and then poking fun.
I honestly didn't know after listening having not heard him speaking before. I thought he was a bag of nerves and was overusing the word "like".
Feel a bit bad for making that presumption because he's obviously significantly more confident than I had originally thought; I wouldn't have made fun of him though.

Sounds like he's here for the right reasons, isn't very egotistical, and should fill a nice gap in our backline when his time comes (hopefully next match).

Many people with speech impediments can struggle for confidence.

The fact he has been a team captain and leader of men for so long makes him even more impressive in my mind. 👍🏻
This for me. Must be fantastic in the dressing room. Feels a proper signing.

My Leeds fan mate loves him she’s gutted he’s gone

Some one made a comparison to George and I think that about right he’s their George friend and compliments don’t get much higher.

Without reading this thread, I was unaware he had a small problem with his speech.

Fair play for doing the interview. I can't imagine it's easy.

He came across well. Hopefully he adds something to us and improves us.

Obvious speech issue but i think he handles it well, i had it on in the background and could hear and understand every word. Fair play to him for not letting it get to him - and easy for me to say - but i don't really think its that bad, he speaks openly and freely.
Every time we've played against him, he's done well and he's a master of shithousery. Can't wait to have him doing it for us, than against us.

And who is anyone from Boro to talk about overusing the word like

Hope he's been fully briefed on his Tommy Smith 'fun sponge' role.............i.e. constantly bollocking younger squad members (Isaiah Jones in particular), dragging people away from goal celebrations, etc., etc., ......................

I hope he does that. I’ve missed Tommy

Is that a general comment or directed at my post?
I would imagine it's a general comment...........like. ;)

Edit: ............. and, I should add, a fine example of that essential element of the Teesside character, self-deprecating humour.............the ability to laugh at ourselves.
