This is why the window needs to be changed — close it before the season starts

England pushed for it and made the decision a few years ago to have our window end before the season starts and tried to almost bully the rest to go along with us. But the rest of Europe stuck two fingers up at us and kept to the previously agreed dates. Consequently, the next year England scrapped the idea and went along with the rest as the big English clubs were too worried about losing players after our deadline passed, to big European clubs who refused to change.

In principle it's the best and most common sense idea but with leagues starting at different times agreeing on one date is difficult and every club has self interest at their heart.

Having said the above I did prefer the old days when anyone could sign anyone right up until the final deadline towards the end of the season, seemed to make everything more free and easy. These days with small transfer windows, everyone is too scared to sanction any deals until they know they have a replacement in place. It becomes like a giant chain in the housing market and everything almost grinds to a halt.

I'm not against the current system but what stops us imposing our own regulations on when players are allowed to be sold. Is it Euefa?

Just been talking to Euefa on the phone but he was too tired to comment having walked up Snowden, these Welsh lads are never direct in their comments

I'd be careful - he's also following Chelsea and the way they're throwing money around they might just say "why the hell not"
I wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea tried to gazump us with an 84m and 150k/week 8 year offer. It's how they roll. The only stopping this is that he hasn't got half a season under his belt in Brighton's first team

Hearing Al Hilal have got wind having lost out on Giles to Luton 😢

I was hoping they fancied a bit chuba to be honest, wanted our 40m jackpot
Good news is Coulson may be available, providing we can separate him and Woodgate in the canteen…. Fine margins though, tea lady hoping to cause a brew haha to distract and then whisk him away.

PSG set to hijack our bid for Lathe now Neymar’s off.

Engel’s wants a return to Manchester, to complete his great great grandfather’s manifesto.

At least we’ve got super Hayden Coulson and I’m sure Paddy could do a job up top!

I'm beginning to think Woody must have sired young Hayden back in the days when he played for the barcodes. It's the only plausible explanation. Although Mother Coulson must have been a bearded midget for Hayden to turn out so small and hairy

Alas, it was inevitable, we still have hope of a deal for Uche Ikpeazu though, so all is not yet lost.
