Lucas Joao

why not both? they're very different types of players
I wouldn't be against that at all, I meant more if we were signing a 'main man' for decent coin then a cheaper guy as the number two to rotate with the others.

I'd rather have maybe a Gyökeres/Riis Jakobsen with a Twine over one of those two and someone like Joao with a patchy injury record that would probably command a decent fee and wage.

But compared to our current front two of Watmore & Coburn we wouldn't need much of a forward coming in to massively improve our options!

I think it's a buyers market as far as Joao is concerned. Everyone knows Reading have to sell and reduce their wage bill as agreed with the EFL.

Everyone also knows that Joao has a patchy injury record.

I see this as a poundland Mark Viduka situation. Viduka was worth at least 15m when we bought him for 4.5m. We paid half has wages. It'll be similar with Joao, sold under value, and probably on less wages, or heavily appearance dependent.

Gyokeres, would love to get him in the Spence money will give us an outside chance.

A 4 of Gyokeres, Joao, Twine and Watmore would be pretty decent.

Are we talking about Scott Twine? Admittedly I don’t know much about him, but I thought he was an attacking midfielder rather than a striker? Either way, his stats for MK Dons are very impressive this year - 20 goals and 13 assists.

Just saw that Watford, Forest and Norwich all linked with Joao too. Probably all paper chat cos his agent drumming up interest but might end up being a battle to get him.

he's a 10, can play off a CF like Gyokeres like O'Hare does for Coventry. People are obsessed with having a poacher that runs in behind, but you can do it other ways. Gyokeres holds up for Cov and O'Hare picks it up in the space he just isn't very good at shooting.....Twine is

Decent scoring record. I always thought he was a handful at Sheff Wed (although hardly prolific).

A big unit who's slightly unpredictable so has a match winning ability.

Although I'm not convinced he's a Wilder 'type?'. A kind of target man who's not going to chase and close down.
He scores goals so deffo not a Wilder type
