Lucas Joao

I would have him. Offers a lot. Unpredictable, has goals in him, a good size, athletic. Would be perfect with someone alongside him who is an out and out scorer

Decent scoring record. I always thought he was a handful at Sheff Wed (although hardly prolific).

A big unit who's slightly unpredictable so has a match winning ability.

Although I'm not convinced he's a Wilder 'type?'. A kind of target man who's not going to chase and close down.

I watched quite a bit of the Luton v Reading game and he was chasing and closing down in that game. Surprisingly tricky feet too.

I'd gave absolutely no complaints if we ended up signing him, good player who I've always dreaded coming up against, very, very good striker at this level

he's got great feet.

I would suspect his fee would be fairly low as only 1 year left and reading have to sell to reduce wages. Probably 2 mill?

Better than bringing Rhodes back, if he can stay fit.
Good goalscoring record for Reading in the last 3 seasons. Poor time at Wendies.
I believe they saw a lot of talent in him in Sheffield, and he put in some decent performances, 26 league goals in 57 starts. That's a goal every 2 starts. the problem was that was spread across 4 years, not 2.

I've not seen enough of him to judge what his stamina is like?

He will need to press for a solid 60/70 mins which is the reason Ikpeazu doesn't fit the bill.

His injury issues means this would be a bit of a punt that I'd be tempted to swerve unless his fee and wage demands mean he could be viewed as a backup striker.

He has a lot more to his game than Ikpeazu and stamnia wise looked OK against Luton.

His injury record is not good which is a concern.

First realistic striker option that we’ve been linked with in a fair while that I’ve thought ‘oooh yes please!’

Given the intensity that Wilder likes his strikers to play, his injury record would be my main concern. Can he press for 60/70 mins and play 40+ games a season?

His likely fee/wages would mean he is probably out of scope as 3rd or 4th choice
