Louis Theroux - The Settlers

Like a lot of people, I have some strong feelings about what I feel is a barbaric and genocidal country - Israel.

I havent watched this documentary, very deliberately, because I am trying not to get too involved in world matters, again and again.
I am trying to live my own life and concentrate on my own family. But, how can we ignore the genocide that the world just lets happen in Palestine?
It is state sponsored genocidal mass murder carried out by a nation that was formed, less than a 100 years ago, by victims of state sponsored genocidal mass murder.

But, I will watch it...probably today and end up full of fu.ck.,

touchy subject really when they people being killed are covering for terrorist organization. The countries which are Muslim around them wont even entertain taking any in which is also interesting on what the are might know more about.

Yeah I've only seem the last 10 mins and am amazed the bbc have screened it. The Settler lady really is quite something.

I know what your saying bud but parents who are covering for the terrorists are then putting the kids in arms way not sure how to resolve it but sad from both sides really

Sorry, but it sounds like you are making excuses for genocide, or you’ve bought a large chunk of some of the Israel media manipulation.
Or do you really believe that the 10s of 10000s killed are all terrorists, terrorist enablers or terrorist sympathisers?
What about the accounts of neutral aid and warzone healthcare organisations being attacked? Are they terrorist enablers too? Israel have some of their government buildings in civilian areas also - does that mean they are putting human shields around themselves and anybody caught up in attacks is fair game too?
Sorry to be blunt, but you sound like your view of the situation isn’t really very clear.

Having seen Theroux’s last visit to the West Bank I kinda knew what was coming.. and yeah its awful but must see.

Absolutely, but for a long time now, there has been plenty of information out there to make a mockery of the narrative that it’s mainly terrorists, their enablers and sympathisers that are being targeted and killed.
The coverage of the whole thing has been appalling.
I honestly don’t know what to think. Everything I know about it has been “fed” to me by some source that I can’t claim is totally objective, and it’s clear both sides have committed atrocities, even if they are not proportionate (not that that would make it ok). Just wish it would all stop.

It’s the biggest period of global shame in recent times, and history will not look back kindly on the leaders and countries that didn’t do all they could to stop it.
If you can stomach it, look at the press releases of Unicef, UN, medicin sans frontiers, Red Cross etc
They paint a truly horrific picture of what’s going on out there, much of which doesn’t make it into our media or if it does, we are now so numb to it that we skim past it.
It’s too horrific to comprehend.

Israel killed Sinwar with a remote control drone which flew into the room he was in. The idea that a country with a military as advanced as Israel's needs to flatten everything in a strip of land, the size of which is about Boro to Peterlee in length and Marton to Redcar in width, is sick.

I would say that one that is recognized as a terrorist organization but i know what you mean no way at all am i defending Israel
The quote, "When they do it to us it is terrorism, when we do it to them it is counterterrorism," reflects Noam Chomsky's critique of how the term "terrorism" is often used selectively, highlighting a double standard where the actions of powerful actors are often excused or justified while the actions of less powerful groups are labelled as terrorism. Chomsky argues that this selective labelling reveals a biased and politically motivated understanding of the term.

The problem is that the civilian population of Gaza are not a "side", they are just people being massacred and having their homeland flattened by powerful neighbour with western support. The Israel narrative is always about Hamas (same for their western supporters), but mass civilian casualites is never justifiable in achieving the goal of eliminating them. To me Israel are just taking their opportunity to flatten the place.
