If you were remotely interested I was commenting on the legal process. Once it comes to a conclusion the rest is speculation. I have no idea what he did or did not do. It would be the same for Perry Mason (a bit niche) or Mason Greenwoid.

For clarity - rapists, misogyny, bullying and bigotry (proven) are against my values. I could, if I so wished give many examples of how I have stood up to those behaviours. It cost me a job and, in one instance put me and my young sons in danger of violence.

It might be worth your while to study Socrates - the Ancient Greek not the Brazilian footballer.

As I said earlier - have a lovely weekind.
Not really sure what the legal process has do with whether you think someone a a dreadful human or not. I imagine many “innocent” people are indeed dreadful humans.

Have a lovely weekend too.

Thats the rub really, isn’t it! The easiest is probably to ban payouts, but someone could buy a ticket still and leave it with a family member to claim. I can see why the law is as it is administratively speaking.

It is for the law makers to determine, along with the competition organisers any changes, clearly. I am sure anything other than the current situation or a total outright ban on payout would be very complex and perhaps too difficult to manage. If there was a way the victims of the crimes they are serving sentences for could receive a proportion, say for 50% of any winnings totalling over £1K, then i’d be ok with that i think, but i dare say it is fraught with complexity and a nightmare to administer were it even possible. Additionally, some crimes may be victimless and so what happens then, to charities approved by organisers?

It is galling though that such a high profile criminal financially benefits by playing during his sentence, while his victims suffering goes on though.
Sorry you feel sad about my post Johnny, could you explain why you find it so disappointing.

Sounds like we can agree that misogynist behaviour is just horrible and must be condemned.
I hope, on reflection, you can see I wasn’t defending his behaviour - I was making a general point.

The thing we differ on is judging a him as a dreadful human on the basis of what we know so far.

It’s a bit deep rooted for me. I’m mid 60’s and reflect with shame at some of my behaviours up until my mid 20’s - I was a shoplifter until mid teens, took part in racist chanting until I was around 20 and did, on around 4-5 times did drive whilst over the limit.
I’d hate to have been written off as a ‘dreadful’ human on the basis of any or all of them.
I accept people do make such judgements. My preference is to judge over time and give them a chance to learn.
