Weird how one of the victims only decided to sue the guy after he won the lottery

BTW - That isn't me sticking up for the bloke or victim blaming, just a weird coincidence
Maybe because he had no money so wasn’t worth the stress of suing him before? Quite plausible.

Good luck to her, I hope she takes him to the cleaners. Doesn’t she deserve recompense for being raped/sexual assaulted then having to go to court and lay it all out in front of the court. Got to say fella, you’ve got a really weird take on this.

Yikes Col - could also be me he's referring to as I used the phrase better things to worry about
Im guessing he is referring to me as he has used my terminology....

Quite how he has jumped from a bloke legally winning the lottery (despite his obnoxious past) to accusing me of being a Mason Greenwood Sympathiser (again obnoxious but as yet unconvicted of any crime) is beyond me.

@nowthen would you care to explain your slanderous remarks or are you just wanting to hide behind your keyboard?

I think there already are some sort of laws in place governing future earnings. You get compensation hearings in some matters. Never come across it in a sex case though, and my knowledge of such things is very vague.

I wonder if his victim could make a civil claim?
One did and win 50k plus about 600k court costs. The law was changed because of this as she was outside the time limit to claim.

Been out sorry. Edited my post.

You didn't answer my question - do you think it's worth doing, given the costs involved and the likelihood of it happening again ?

It's possible to have sympathy and empathy with the victims, as I do, without thinking that them receiving a windfall from the offender would in any way compensate for what they went through, or that changing the law is an admirable use of limited public funds.

It's a knee-jerk reaction to a headline.
I would change the law yes. If the law change impacted on more male lives being a victim, it may have already been done.

Huh ?

You do realize that it doesn't stop anyone being a victim of violent or sexual assault, it just removes the likelihood of their assailant becoming rich through winning a lottery.

You really think that's where precious resources should be spent tackling this one in a billion instance ?

Yeah, add people on the sex register to it too. Any winnings go back to the state.

Go on then - please humour me and help me understand how you have concluded I’m a Greenwood sympathiser.
For the record, I‘ve never met him

If not - enjoy your weekend.

To listen to the audio and not conclude he is a dreadful human takes some doing.

If you were remotely interested I was commenting on the legal process. Once it comes to a conclusion the rest is speculation. I have no idea what he did or did not do. It would be the same for Perry Mason (a bit niche) or Mason Greenwoid.

For clarity - rapists, misogyny, bullying and bigotry (proven) are against my values. I could, if I so wished give many examples of how I have stood up to those behaviours. It cost me a job and, in one instance put me and my young sons in danger of violence.

It might be worth your while to study Socrates - the Ancient Greek not the Brazilian footballer.

As I said earlier - have a lovely weekind.
