Losing jones has killed our season.

Ayling is a good honest pro but his legs have gone and he has limited mobility. I'd be disappointed if he's still around next season even as a squad player.

Thomas looks like a little boy lost at the moment who doesn't really know what he should be doing, but he's been thrown into a team not playing well.

We've definitely missed Jones. He adds pace and a bit of X Factor that nobody else does.

Although also not having a CF for weeks on end. That said I'm not totally convinced on the two we have. Although still better than playing No10s and wingers up top 😐

Basically injuries have fecked us. We've been missing 5-6 from the matchday squad for the majority of the season. Currently without a recognised CF and without our first choice CM.

I agree Howson is a miss but age has caught up with him so his game time needs to managed.

The simple truth is they we have no one else in the squad that can do what jones can no one.

I don’t think at any point this season we have had what you would class as a fully fit first 11 available at the same time.. now many teams can probably say the same but it really does feel as though we have been totally shafted this season.

There was a stat mentioned during the game yesterday ..

Our injured players have missed a combined 189 games with only 8 of our squad remaining injury free all season and 3 of those were January signings!

Which makes selling 2 of those ever presents even more baffling.

Selling Rogers AND Crooks in January and replacing neither was the end of the season. Short sighted in my view.

The seeming fall out with Dieng hasn’t helped either mind!

It's not losing any individual that's the problem, it's constantly losing players in key positions ruining any chance of building a consistent team that plays together week in week out.

You don't need a team of world beaters in this league, a solid set up and consistency can get you far, a bit of talent does the rest.

Doing the double over leicester and having the easiest run to a cup semi ever, has papered over some cracks of a very bad season.
I did call it at the start but after the run of 7 wins I thought I was wrong, but as usual I'm proven right.
I did say relegation battle.
Not out the woods yet. 😬
