London restaurants…

No worries…

We’re going the coals drop yard for a look around on the Saturday before train home….
We’re staying in tooting so a bit out of central London.. might try Kew Gardens. We’re doing a show on Thursday, shard on Friday so cramming quite a bit in in 3 days…
If you want a fairly regular looking pub close to the Shard, try this. Not quite as risqué as it sounds. This was the leather making area of London, with the trading companies on this street.

The Leather Exchange

There is also another Cafe Murano around the corner, on a street with many small restaurants (Bermondsey Street).

BTW, Tooting is noted for its South Indian restaurants, mainly on Upper Tooting Road (the road from Tooting to Tooting Bec). All very simple looking, and very cheap. Kolam was a favourite of mine years ago, if its still there.

Sorry to steal the thread, but I’m in London in two weekends time… my first time as a tourist.

Staying in Covent Garden, any recommendations for ‘must do’? Going to a gig on Sunday night, but wanting to make the most of the weekend.
Go to bring your own bar and get a mixologist for a couple of hours

If you are going there Dishoom for lunch and Tom Hanks Moon landing exhibition is on there at the moment. Also Idris Elba’s great wine bar Porte Noir is housed in one of the converted gasometers.

A mate of mine swears by Bob Bob Ricard for something better than run of the mill chain places.

I've not been, but he said it's brilliant.

Love this place, looks like a lap dancing bar from the outside (intentionally, neon lights etc), but a great atmosphere and fantastic food too.

didn't like this one, mainly as I was looking for lapdancing.

Love this place - quirky, fun but you must go to the toilet too

Hawksmoor

Oh boy . Hawskmoor . Too many stories. Went to the Seven Dials one first . Then, couldn't stop going. Later on my brother visited me in London and we went, we decided every time he came back for a visit we would go to a different one if we could , sort of tick them all off. Long time ago that now though, last one we managed to get together for was the Edinburgh one. Always had a great experience in any Hawksmoor
