Local elections TODAY

I will be interested to see the turnout figures for this - if I remember rightly, the last local elections were around 35%????

I'd like to think that they would be considerably higher given the circumstances (that is from both parties to be honest). Then again, I think the local elections may be lost on some people due to lack of understanding.

With voter ID required also the turnout figures will be very interesting.

I walked in voicing my disgust at the voter ID voter suppression tactic. I made it clear I did not blame the people behind the desk.

They gave me a slip that says

'If you wish to express concerns about the introduction of voter ID, please email

correspondence@levellingup.gov.uk

or write to

Frankly, we should all email this blatant voter suppression measure. If they want to get the most votes they should enact policies that motivate people to vote for them. Hopefully it leads to a free national ID card.

If I hadn't voted I'd still email and say I would have voted Tory ha ha.

Just been quiet as far as I could tell. Silly palaver with the passport seemed to make it take longer to actually get your voting slip which at busy times in a GE is going to be an issue. The next trick to suppress voting is to underman the poling stations in red areas.

Was looking through the candidates for various Middlesbrough seats last night and was shocked to see that Shamal Biswas is now a Conservative!!
Labour Councillor for years and jumps ship to the Tories.
Really can't get my head around someone doing this, especially with the current bunch of cvnts ruining the country.
Maybe he wasn't really Labour at heart in the first place and just seen it as a way of being elected?

I asked at our local polling station how many had forgotten id's. I was rold only 1. I voted at about 6:30 this evening.

We've had a number of leaflets through the door, only from Labour, the latest this morning.

Heard nothing at all from the Tories, Reform or Independent candidate.

I've voted for both Labour candidates.
We've had more Conservative leaflets through the door and one from them telling us what Labour had failed at.

Just put my vote in and three X's for Labour.

Choice of 3 Labour, 3 Tory or 1 Lib Dem in my area, was tempted to spoil my paper as not happy with any, did vote Labour at finish. General election will be a different matter though if there is a Green cndidate or true independant (not a tory in disguise).

Polling station said they been a steady flow of people all day.
