I only saw it reported today. It’s on the BBC site, Sky News, Guardian etc all dated today. She said this 2 days ago - where were you then Sherlock or are you catching up after your enforced absence from this esteemed forum?
Take that money away, and what does it achieve? Your tax isn't coming down, and you're not going to earn more. It just makes those around you poorer. Some people do take the mick though. I know 3 people that I believe are, 2 with council tax and UC fraud and one claiming attendance allowance that shouldn’t get it. Fraud is an issue whether people approve of it or not. I get shocked about how many people believe it ok to embellish health issues whether through work or for monetary gain with benefits. They ultimately cause all the issues for the many genuine people that are in need of support, some naive people on here.
BBC picked up on it today but they reporting that she didn't say "too many"I only saw it reported today. It’s on the BBC site, Sky News, Guardian etc all dated today.
But is that wrong, that she claims for hotels? Don’t we all do that for work?‘Taking the Mickey’ is claiming £155,176.57 on expenses for ‘accommodation’ costs since 2010 when you’ve been paid £1,055,596 in salary in the same time frame.
That’s just accommodation by the way. It doesn’t cover travel, ‘miscellaneous’ costs, VAT-free meals and drinks in the Parliament bar, etc.
These figures need to be highlighted way, way more. If she had to pay her own energy, internet, council tax and water bills you can guarantee they’d be nowhere near the levels they are currently.
Liz Kendall is an arsèhole.
‘Too many’ was in the reports I saw….BBC picked up on it today but they reporting that she didn't say "too many"

Some on benefits are 'taking the mickey', says minister
The work and pensions minister says the welfare system needs reforming to encourage young people to work if they can.www.bbc.co.uk
Then the Huffington Post are being a bit disingenuous. I think these are quotes in the Times from 2 days ago when she doesn't say "too many". Dont get me wrong I get uncomfortable at these attacks on benefit claimants but nobody will deny that there is some that are claiming when they shouldn't be but many are genuinely receiving the benefits.‘Too many’ was in the reports I saw….

I don't think anyone approves of benefit fraud. Those doing it should be caught and prosecuted of course they should. And it should be said most are: DWP employs people who specialise in it and take it very seriously. Some people do take the mick though. I know 3 people that I believe are, 2 with council tax and UC fraud and one claiming attendance allowance that shouldn’t get it. Fraud is an issue whether people approve of it or not. You'll notice in the Huffington headline that 'taking the mickey' bit is in quotes. the 'too many' bit isn't.‘Too many’ was in the reports I saw….
