I once bought George Best a pint in a bar just off the Kings Rd. Best was sat on a stool at the bar reading a paper when I sent the beer down to him. He looked at me and raised the glass to say cheers and had a look of horror on his face thinking he was going to have his solitude ruined by a stranger.

I never went over to speak with him and regret it to this day.
