Lifetime ban for man who invaded pitch on Saturday.

Ah, so if they've already said it's a lifetime ban previously then he can't really complain. I didn't realise that. Tough but if that's what they've said...

They banned a fan for life last year for encouraging his kid to run on the pitch.

I found that less harsh because he actually disrupted the match whilst it was in play.

Harsh but who's really going to be able to police it. Its not like they have photos up of people who are banned, theres nobody even on the turnstiles anymore!

They've cancelled his season card and presumably he'll be unable to use his actual name to try and buy tickets anymore.

Yeah but in 5 years time if his mate/brother/mam/hairdresser has bought his ticket I doubt there'll be any way of stopping him amongst 28,000 people.
I'm just not sure if a lifetime ban is actually enforceable.

Seems harsh to me. As far as I'm aware he wasn't in any way violent or abusive. I don't condone people going on the pitch but a ban until the end of the season would seem more appropriate in my humble opinion.

Probably not, but it'll always be much more difficult for him to get to matches from now on.

I've seen a lot of people criticising the clubs stance on this incident on the MFC Facebook post about it, lots of 'get a grip' and 'he was just excited we had scored' type comments.

However the club have repeatedly posted that they have a zero tolerance approach to people coming over the barriers so he can blame no one but himself... he's a grown man ffs.

To those who do think the club have been harsh, at what point do we go from a slap on the wrist to a season ban to a lifetime ban? Does a player/official have to be assaulted before they're not welcome back?

His biggest problem will be trying to get a ticket to big matches with high demand like play off finals, cup semis or even premier league games. He won't be able to order himself, he'll want to sponge of friends, they won't give them up for those games.
