Lidl own Art College site...

Supermarket or flats/housing - whats the difference - will add to already congested roads that are overloaded now.

Well I suppose with housing, the residents wouldn’t be constantly coming and going every 20 minutes, all day long.

plus a big neon lit supermarket would just look absolutely bloody awful there

I don't think that houses will add to the congestion. How many people who worked or studied at the college arrived by car in rush hour? Probably a lot more than the traffic that a few houses will cause.

I am a fan of LIDL, but thats atrocious - almost looks like a wind up with a truck saying Eco Grab. Next they will be selling elephant ivory. Surely the trees could have been only trimmed, it will take 50 years to replace them!

and it is they who have been cutting the trees down.

Edit: Apologies to Uncle Harry, who's thread this has already been mentioned on.
How are they going to build a supermarket on that side? Painfully close to housing on Green Lane and out the back on Roman Road and Harrow Rd, both of which are part of the conservation area. Art college moved so they could expand it, any new development outside housing is going to have similar issues.
