Lewis O 'Brien as cover?

Forest are now paying his wages with no chance of playing for them in the League (not registered). Could be an option for a loan, so we pick up a good chunk of his wages, but have someone that can fit in straight away. He is a good age and works hard. Ok he would not play say if Morris and Hackney were available, but would mean we still could rotate players in an area of the team where high energy is very important.

Think he’s a player who can slot right in where we need him. He’s solid without being spectacular and can fill in when and where needed.

He'd do a job. He is more of a type of CM we need. Gets around the pitch and a better tackler than Barlaser.

I imagine we'd still be on the hook for a high percentage of his wages. He is on a few quid.

Also very dependent on how long Morris and Howson are out for. Once fit we'd be stacked with CMs. I think he's probably a bit to expensive (wages / loan fee) for a short term fix.

Of course but he also has the option of going to a team where he’s going to start every game. That would be my preference if I was in his position.

He has played in the USA recently but that league has finished. Not sure of his current fitness, but Forest have advertised they want him off their books.

I think it would be a great loan move, good player knows the championship, he will probably be a better player as we had him coming back from injuries most if the time.

Exactly and the club can still be on the lookout for an additional young CDM that fits the model.

I'd have him back. I thought he put in some good performances towards the end of last season, once he was fully fit.

I personally was hoping for us to sell Barlaser when the Turkish club showed an interest, and for the club to sign O'Brien.
