Leroy Lita Under the Cosh

Wasn’t it just
I was one of the optimistic ones when we appointed Strachan 😂
Hated every second of that time. Makes the decision to sack Southgate even worse looking back hearing what Strachan was like behind the scenes.

I listened to that whole podcast and Lita doesn’t cover himself in glory either with the way he dealt with certain situations throughout his career

Maybe the only time I really didn't want to go to the match. Every match we all wanted to stay in the pub rather than go to the game. Bleak.

I was the same. It felt that Southgate was broken and that someone like Strachan would come in and offer an injection of steel. At the time, he had a successful managerial career. Boy, was I wrong.

Got to agree it was a terrible time. I actually thought it would be a good appointment untill he turned us into Hamilton Academicals. The football we played was dreadful.

I agree with this. I remember seeing him beasting them, running up hills in La Manga and thinking "that's just what they need. Toughen them up"

Young and dumb on my part

Also interesting was the players out on the raz in Yarm when Southgate was sacked.

A perfect example of being too itchy with the trigger finger, the players were happy under GS and we would have got top 6 minimum I think.

Sounds a good lad Leroy, Strachan sounded a bigger tvvat than I thought possible, so another season with a split changing room.
I wonder how much of his 'training' methods were responsible for the injuries we had to Thompson & Flood etc

Genuinely the worst manager we've ever had and it's not even close.

I think it'll be hard to hire a worse manager.

Strachan was torture. That time as a 'Boro was by a distance the worst I've witnessed.

Not for me we got battered 4 0 at home to wba and 5 - 0 at home to Newcastle in the space of a few weeks.
