Lennie Lawrence

To continue as Hartlepool manager, he's been given the job until the end of the season.
My favourite ever season. Think I only missed two away matches and made all of the home ones (in the days when you could pay at the gate - remember those?).

Remember asking him a question at a supporters club meeting and bricking it that I didn't muck it up aha

Great guy and yes, very much underrated as written before. I loved the way he used to say Middles-barrah. Best wishes Lennie for you and the Pools.

Injuries prevented a real promotion push in 93/94 and a small squad which saw the likes of Liburd, Pollock, Kavanagh and Moore regulars in the first team with the loss of experienced players like Phillips, Falconer and Kernaghan

Plus the fact games were live on Tyne Tees and home games were often sub 10k

Did he recommend Robson or help us to get Robson? I seem to remember something along these lines but may be wrong.

Also why does he not go by his actual names Robin or Michael?

As I remember it, he was mates with Sir Alex Ferguson and so asked Gibson what the plan was after he was sacked as he wanted the best for the club. He then used his personal relationship with Sir Alex to start the ground work for us with getting Robbo in.

Am I right in thinking he's still lives on Teesside. I've randomly seen him boarding the Kings Cross train at Eaglescliffe a few times.
