Leeds could clinch promotion at riverside

Talk last night about this game could be moved as Leeds food be able to clinch promotion on the night so bear this in mind for travel plans etc

Unthinkable though isn’t it. Makes me shudder just thinking about it

On the flip side, we could have the chance to finally condemn them to the playoffs in that match.

We can take a dive the week before at Ipswich, then beat them. Leicester Southampton and the Baggies have already come a cropper up here this year.

Get the chorus of "that's why you're staying down" ready.

The opposite - I think the rats would be everywhere. At Ayresome, when there wasa crush in the Leeds end I rem, ember some in the Holgate asking to be escorted out
They came in the Holgate well before kick off but they weren't asking to be escorted out. They were giving it large to the centre of the Holgate which was mainly full of kids with it being a good while before kick off. Could've got a bit nasty nearer to kick off when the local pubs emptied but the police moved them on well before then.

I know quite a few Leeds supporters. A few of them have had unpleasant experiences at Middlesbrough with our supporters too.

I got a knock on the door today from an elderly neighbour who couldn't open her garage door. Her husband, who is a huge Leeds fan and used to travel to Elland Rd with their son when he was alive, was out the front with her. Unfortunately, age has got to him and he suffers from Dementia and he wouldn't look at me when I went over. I managed to open the garage door, explained to her how there was a sequence to opening the lock and then turned to her husband, "I see you look like getting promoted this season" I said and his face lit up. "I hope so" he replied and for one fleeting moment, I found myself hoping Leeds would get promoted. This moment soon passed and I was back to my old self saying "The Boro will stop you from going up" and walked away whilst he was saying the Boro are rubbish, etc. 🤣 🤣 🤣

The smile on his face when I mentioned them going up made my day. ;)

I don't mind Leeds myself probably going back to the 1965 FA Cup Final as Alan Peacock was playing for them and I wanted them to beat Liverpool though they lost in extra time.To be fair they had only been promoted the previous season and were probably in contention to win a trophy for the next decade or so and had some highly talented players in that period.

I would think the best two teams in Leeds and Leicester are not in the championship next season, it would be best for us next season.

Anyone but Leeds, had more trouble visiting Elland road than any other ground in the 80s.
Remember them ripping the East end seats out when Boro lads attacked them across the pitch at the end of the game, police spend half an hour trying to get control. Was 84 or 85?
Linthorpre road was a war zone…awful times.

That would only leave Southampton, Ipswich, Hull City, WBA, Coventry, Sheff Utd, Burnley, (Luton Possibly) to contend with :ROFLMAO:

Unless we invest this summer, then next season will be another struggle to get out of this difficult league.

I can remember a single police dog clearing the pitch of Boro fans in about 30 seconds flat.😃

I don’t remember like that, I remember the Joeys jumping down from the North stand upper and running on the pitch and it all started again.
The original pitch invasion was from the Holgate, everyone the police got the, off the pitch, they ran around them and back towards the east end..it went on for some time.
It was on look north news on the Monday…a lot of easts were ripped out.
I was only about 15 years of age at the time so maybe my memory isn’t what it was.

Probably depends which game, I forget the exact year.

I think this was one of the last games of the 83-84 season?
could be getting games mixed up..
It was our 1st home game that season ,, 3 or 4 thousand Leeds turned up., Then 3 days later it was Newcastle on the Tuesday, with about 7000 -8000 mags, both 'very lively' matches with Newcastle being off the scale as had happened when we played them in Feb/ March a few months earlier at AP.
