The problem is, it is a disinformation pushing vessel used to drive a culture wars narrative and manipulate the hard of thinking, whilst simultaneously distracting the naive from the real issues that affect them and sewing hate and division wherever it can. It uses the odd ‘big name’ presenter (eg Eamon Holmes) to lend an air of legitimacy to the cranks, conspiracists, shills and shock-jocks that it also platforms. It absolutely should not be labelled a news channel. It’s motives and reasons for existence should be highlighted to all and it’s disinformation and bile should be called out at every opportunity. It’s a right wing propaganda device used to further the interests of it’s backers and the fact it exists is a sad reflection of how far down the pan TV has gone.
In other words, I don’t think people should just be allowed to get on with it.

Maybe true. But this thread looks a bit like 'preaching to the converted'. Which is why it does actually come across a bit sneery. In fact it was the post that accused 'sadact brexit voters from another board' of thinking we are sneery that was the most sneery post.
Dismiss and discuss the channel as much as you want but why go all 'Disgusted in Milton Keynes'?

And I'm not sure it's a wise move to try and censor it which your last sentence seems to suggest.
When election time comes won't they be subjected to the same impartiality rules as any other news channel?

I care because they've dragged this country into the mud and left it there.

Call it my Brexit benefit. They got to curtail my freedom of movement and I get to call sadact retired boomers who permanently damaged the country sadacts.

Whatever your thoughts on the channel and its presenters, I thought it was ironic that you accused brexit voting sadacts from another board of possibly sneering at us.
That comment seemed to me to be very sneery itself.
And now they are also retired boomers?

Not sure about the essence of it, but accusing members of an unnamed board of looking at this thread and sneering at us whilst assuming they voted for Brexit just seemed a bit of a non sequitur.
Though I did appreciate the irony.

I wouldn't know if it is on the nose to be honest. I've only seen comments on here about it so I guess there must be a fair few posters from here who are currently on there.
As I've said before - apparently Erimus74 posts on that site so it does make me wonder how bad it must actually be.
Unless I've misjudged him and he is in fact a sadact brexit voting racist.

I never denied what I was saying could be seen as sneering - it's quite clear I was inviting it.

And I never accused anyone of sneering at us. Read what I wrote again.

The retired boomers comment was a rhetorical flourish based on the Brexit/GBNews demographic.

Weird you're going in to bat for these people, but those forelocks aren't going to tug themselves I suppose.

I'm not batting for anyone (except by default maybe Erimus74 I suppose).
I just wonder why there are so many references to them. It is like a private vendetta which I don't understand, and it often derails threads.
I don't know what Post 13# is if it isn't accusing someone of sneering at us. And if you were inviting it why would you do that? It is just causing trouble for the sake of it.
The other board is locked up and is nothing to do with us so why is it even mentioned?
I'm pleased that the irony was intentional, well done.
