Who is that?You won't win promotion without a Paul Wilkinson in your side but strikers like him are as rare as rockin horse poo nowadays and don't come in that model anymore
Wilko had Bernie and Hendrie to play off too (yes I like living in the 1990s haha)
To think both (Hendrie) players cost £500k each in todays market you could put an extra zero on that figure
Times have changed sadly we've had some guff to watch over the years especially during the Strachan era (I think this guy was signed for 500k too! but instantly forgettable!)

I think the plan of Coburn for 65 - 70 minutes to batter the Central defence then 20 - 25 mins of Lath running behind them would work more times than it failed. Alternatively use Lath in same way we delpoyed Archer but you need a player of Akpom's ability behind him and that will take about £15m to find. Or maybe £1.5m and then develop and don't sell after 6 months

I largely agree mart.
We need to play to his strengths and we were rubbish yesterday. He, for me, was the only player showing heart and effort.
He is a 1 in 2 striker, give our take. Easily good enough of the team were good enough.

His stats for us suggest he is. He isn't going to score when we give him nothing, yet he is still a 1 in 2 on minutes played.

That’s a big call 1 in 2 is akpom Adam Armstrong form I’d love but I just don’t see that 1 in 3 maybe but not 1 in 2 he’s not clinical enough.

I genuinely get it. I am a stats guy, and I make a fair bit of money from that approach.
Looking at it from your point of view. If we bothered to create anything for him he would look a lot better. I think he had one chance yesterday and had an, I admittedly, weak shot on target. Through the 90 minutes he was one of, only 2,that aquited themselves with any credit.
When you are that woeful going forward it's easy to blame your striker.

I agree we can’t really see or judge him until he’s given the service and a proper run but when it does come he needs to finish to get to yhst 1in 2 level.
I think he needs more chances than though

I think it’s more an issue of having to rush him back when he isn’t fully fit over him being injury prone.
Next year is huge for him, but I can’t see him getting enough goals for a team chasing the top 6
