Latte Lath

What does he bring to the table - he has a turn of pace but I’m not seeing much else. He was poor again yesterday, doesn’t seem able to hold the ball up or bring anyone else into play, poor first touch, and doesn’t look like a natural goal scorer to me. When he signed i looked at his playing record and thought that doesn’t look like a player we should be shelling circa £5m on.
Am i missing something with this lad because right now it’s looks like Atalanta must be laughing down their sleeves

Think he'd do well playing off Coburn, he's feeding off scraps the way we play at the minute.
We don’t play two up top and he’s not a number ten - maybe a wide forward role might suit him but he’s not a centre forward who’ll get us promoted imo. More effective as an impact sub really when his pace might be put to more use

Poor yesterday, but then who wasn’t. Also first game back after injury so give the lad a chance. Surprised Finn and Riley aren’t being given the full 90 at the moment, perhaps Riley might be a possibility in the midfield two?

Same as last time this was asked about a week ago…

New to the league, was getting better and better prior to his injury.

Good movement, explosive pace, finishing was improving as he settled.

7 in 25 in an injury disrupted first season. A goal every 200 mins.
That’s about 10-12 goals over a season - i think that’s what he’d deliver

I thought he looked quite dangerous first half, we just couldn’t execute a pass to get him through on goal, second half, we only got out of our half a few times as Stoke were very physical and the team wilted.

I think he is getting zero support yesterday, just aimless hoofs from the centre circle to run onto against 3 defenders for the majority of the game, where was Azaz and McGree trying clever balls through to him (oh that's right, Azaz was sat on the bench while Charlie Teeth ran around like a headless chicken). We need better than Lath to get promotion but that's a given as he is not a 20 goals a season striker. If we had any other strikers I would have him in behind running at teams much like what we're missing from Jones, you could argue swapping him and Forss around might make us more of a threat. It would certainly mean the opposition couldn't camp out in our own half all game closing us down while we try and pass it out from the keeper.

He was isolated, very little support.

He ran with and without the ball. Caused them a few issues. Yes he isn’t a clean striker of the ball or massively creative but there’s promise there

I thought he looked okay first half yesterday, great bit of play to get McGree in early on and can hold the ball up pretty well but he was completely isolated for the second half. I think he would do well with Engel putting those balls through that he does for players to run on to. Not seen them play much together.

You won't win promotion without a Paul Wilkinson in your side but strikers like him are as rare as rockin horse poo nowadays and don't come in that model anymore ☹️

Wilko had Bernie and Hendrie to play off too (yes I like living in the 1990s haha)

To think both (Hendrie) players cost £500k each in todays market you could put an extra zero on that figure

Times have changed sadly we've had some guff to watch over the years especially during the Strachan era (I think this guy was signed for 500k too! but instantly forgettable!)
