Latte Lath

He could be the top scorer in the league if he’d taken the chances he’s had.. Just seen Piroes goal for Leeds, 1 touch and places it in, composure

We recruit 12 or 13 players - most midfield and forwards and the best player we have to play up top is Crooks? Very hard to understand.

I really don’t mind Lath, I like his movement and runs. Unfortunately it just hasn’t clicked for him in front of goal which is a shame as he’s our main striker… I have hope it will come together for him soon.

Weren't we saying this about Muniz last season? Decent movement but no end result

Who is the guy in the youtube video Latte's twin brother? We've seen no evidence of that player so far

I don't mean to be funny but how can you be do dismissive to Lath improving when you had such blind loyalty towards Payero who lets be honest had shown nothing in a Boro shirt? Lath is at least getting into positions to score. I can't say whether he will start scoring but there is at least a hope that he will. Akpom was absolutely terrible at finishing for us until last season. You've got to hope it may click with him if he starts scoring a few goals and we get a few postive results. At the moment it probably feels to him like all the pressure for the team to score is based on his shoulders. Maybe he relaxes a little and starts to put some of them away. He might not. But it's way too early to dismiss him as being hopeless.
Payero just come on as sub in serie a for udinese

It's only early in his time at the club, he reminds me of Leroy Lita, looking to spin off into space, quick and direct, that said, he has no composure in front of goal, that is something you either have, or don't have, he never looks confident when bearing down on goal.

I'm not sure he will reach double figures, and that's the worry, where are our goals going to come from? because we will always concede.

Why are many on here, thinking he was going to be the real deal? The stats don't lie.
His career record does not back that up, he's played 145 games and scored 31 goals, average.... goal every 4.67 games
Over a 46 game season on his average scoring record, that would be 9.85 goals for the season.

It's early days, but I don't think he looks comfortable leading the line as a loan striker.
He needs some luck in front of goal, that will give him more confidence, but he also needs help around him.
I’ve sort of argued both on this thread. He was £5m, because he isn’t a world beater (yet).

He may or may not improve, but Akpom had pretty unimpressive stats when we signed him and right up until last season.

Far too early for me to make my mind up on him, but I’m certainly not writing him off. I think it’s feasible that he gets goals for us.

His goalscoring record apart from that lone to the Swiss side is not good at all.

Lath was probably the only player who looked bright in that lacklustre first half. He is definitely a striker who needs a few chances before he puts one away, the positive is that with his excellent movement those chances will come so I'm confident he will score goals for us. I'm not saying he will get 20 goals and he's definitely a downgrade on Akpom and Archer but you get what you pay for at the end of the day. Far too early to be writing him off.

Using Akpom as a reason why we should stick with players who aren't showing enough is getting tired very quickly. What happened with Chuba was exceptional. Turnarounds in form like that happen very rarely. In fact I can't think of another example at Boro in the 30 years I've watched them.

Thinking that poor players are going to become world beaters if you stick with them for 3 seasons just because Akpom did is a sure way to get relegated right through the divisions. He was an exception, not the norm.

He's hardly bossing games for Milan is he? He came on for 18 minutes and who scored rated him 6.18, where 16th place udinese boredrawed with 19th place Cagliari ,both winless this year and not looking much better than we are so far.

Unfortunately that's going to be the thing for all time now. The classic "there's a player in there!", and if MC had just a few more games with payero he would have become Maradona

Yeah but there are extremes aren't there. Writing off ELL after 4 games because he hasn't equalled Akpom's goal a game record is also foolish.

I like Latte Lath. He works tirelessly, great movement and tons of speed.
He just needs a bit of confidence to get his shot off sooner.
Talk to him about it and get him doing 1 touch shooting drills.

If we don't start him I'd go with Forss through the middle. Proven scorer and likes a shot.
