Are you talking about Akpom or the new bloke?Poor record bar last season

How much up front is completely irrelevant from ffp. All of the Akpom sale value (minus add ons) will be added to this years ffp. That’s how it works, it’s separate from terms of payment.aint no way we're getting 13m upfront for akpom.. for ffp it's probably like 4m per year for 3 years
Payment structure and ffp are seperate.Yes but anyone we buy would be structured the same way so it doesn’t matter.
Cheers mate
Is the journo 100% reliable?
It's a twitter feed, I don't know the gadge personally so just passing info on'Done deal' as in fee agreed, personal terms agreed and medical passed?
Or just repeating what's been on twitter all day?
He’s a legitimate sports journalist who appears to have his finger on the pulse. He also has over 300k followers. It's a twitter feed, I don't know the gadge personally so just passing info on
Be a pretty sad d*ckhead to pass on information like that about an Atalanta/ Boro transfer for £5m.
That's right, but they made their punts to be able to afford that money by doing it in the Championship and building upBrighton and Brentford spending 5 million on the likes of macaliister as a bit of a punt is the same as us spending 500k on silvera, this is the equivalent to a 50 million pound signing for them, it’s a massive chunk of the budget
You wouldn’t go to the bank and get me some money out, I certainly could use them rates. The € / £ exchange rate on Teesside fluctuates wildly. €6.5m becomes £6.5m, which then becomes £8m........etc
So the deal isn’t “done” as yet?
You don’t get points for being first to post a done deal, just look a bit stupid when the deal isn’t actually “done”.
It’s a great point and despite what some posters say there is a massive risk in relying on too many loan players, especially those who nearly get you over the line, the consequences we are now seeing.Looking forward to seeing a front man up front who we actually own.
Why is everyone inflating fees when we buy and deflating when we sell.£5.6m (if that’s the fee) on a totally unproven striker who has averaged about one goal in four seems like the definition of madness to me.
Why? I’m not gonna pretend I’m excited of course I’ll back him like we all do but don’t trust a thing this recruitment team or owner doesThat's the spirit!
So true. It happens with every deal. Even though multiple people said that Payero was not £5 million, that amount is quoted by everyone on here. And I suspect that this deal is nowhere near £4.3 million. Why is everyone inflating fees when we buy and deflating when we sell.
Every time I read, latte laths fee seems to have gone up another 500k.
It’s £4.3m isn’t it as a basic fee. That’s still quite high, but we trust that the team have done their homework.
This is correct as I have explained many times on the board. How much up front is completely irrelevant from ffp. All of the Akpom sale value (minus add ons) will be added to this years ffp. That’s how it works, it’s separate from terms of payment.
So our ffp has perspective is immediately up 11m - the remaining 650k for the final payment from when we purchased (signing players is amortised across the length of the contract)
Who else can we get? If we want any striker with a decent record in a competitive league then it costs a lot. Only way we would get any cheaper would be trying a lower league signing which is just as much of a risk£5.6m (if that’s the fee) on a totally unproven striker who has averaged about one goal in four seems like the definition of madness to me. Hope I’m wrong but i would think Atalanta are currently doing cartwheels if they’ve managed to get that much for someone who’s hardly kicked a ball for the first team. He may turn out to be great or he may turn out to be a duck egg but this seems a very strange choice to be charged with being our main goal scoring outlet. The championship is a tough old league, he’s going to have to hit the ground running is this lad - can’t see it personally
