County Durham and Darlington got nothing, despite spending over £1M on bids. The whole system's a corrupt joke.Billingham got the money.

I would save loads not having to turn the lights on anymore if it goes there.Plenty of land where the Redcar Arena was going
Please invoice Middlesbrough Council £75,000
That would make a great cinema.I think we need to revamp some of our existing venues in town before we start talking about multi billion pound flashing balls

I was saddened the first time I went home and saw the Odeon had been flattened. The ashtrays in front of the seats
Seriously though, it was big when it was a single screen cinema and would make a good venue either whole or divided up.
However, the Odeon was in much better condition and they tore it down. It would have made a great O2 academy.
Absolutely insane that was allowed to happen.. we could have has an O2 Academy on one side of the road and a Manchester Deaf Institute type of venue with the Cleveland Scientific Institute. HOW GOOD WOULD THAT HAVE BEEN!!The ashtrays in front of the seats

For me it was an iconic building and very much part of my childhood.
