Langstaff move

I think we’ve assembled a batch of very promising young footballers but what we need now, if possible, is to add some real quality to it. We have about half a dozen good players to come back from injury so add Hackney, McGree, Forss, McNair, Crooks, O’Brien and Latte Lath back into the mix along with two or three Archer-level loans or signings(loans, let’s face it) and we could really go on another run in the second half of the season.

I’m not sure adding lads from the fourth tier is going to get us where we need to be. Or not just adding him anyway. We need quality now.

We are a good team at passing the ball but we miss somebody to put the ball in the net. The simple chances missed this season have been costly. This lad scores goals. Billy Sharpe was not fast, tall or elegant but he got Sheffield United promoted. We had one goalscorer on the bench today (Coburn) and he scored to change the game.

Can he step up though? Or is he a Tony Philliskirk, a Dave Bamber, a Phil Starbuck?

We are most likely getting a striker from the MLS
Brandon Vazquez from FC Cincinnati - NOT Julián Carranza from Philadelphia Union

He will fill that missing spot we had from the summer.

Now.. the comings and goings.. three loan spots available but we might be top heavy with the over 21s..

Sam Curtis - 17yo - from St Patrick’s Athletic - the Irish RVBD
Celtic and Leeds also interested.. which might have a knock on effect for Nat Philips and Charlie Cresswell.
I think he will end up at Sunderland.. 100% looks like a Tony Mowbray signing.

Nathaniel Adjei - 21yo - Hammarby
Anderlecht, Leeds, Rangers, Middlesbrough.
Looks like a great signing.. surely it's between us and Leeds? Saying that.. his old boss is at QPR.. so it might be a no go.

Where does the movement come from? Hayden Coulson's stock is still high and he hasn't featured much, Bryant Bilongo has rocked up to 22 and might be loaned out to gain more experience.. I can't see Paddy McNair going anywhere this January..

So Hayden Coulson and Bryant Bilongo to go out on loan to bring in a right back on loan? and.. ONE OTHER Anfernee Dijksteel may move on?

or maybe not two players in the January window..

12 Nathaniel Adjei - Hammarby
20 Brandon Vazquez - FC Cincinnati

signed sealed and delivered.
Maybe it IS Julián Carranza..

27 in February.
1st time he's ever played in the football league.
Too late in the day.
Vardy was 25 when he moved to Leicester. i watched Langstaff's 42 goals on youtube last night. Give this fella a chance, at any level, he'd likely take it. Bet he'd crawl to the Riverside to get a chance to play here...
Maybe Boro fans could crowdfund it!

Mad you lot. He’s scored a lot of goals in league two and everyone’s convinced he can do a Vardy.

I suggest big Jonson Clarke-Harris who scored hatfuls in league one and posted decent numbers in Peterborough’s championship season and apparently he’s a useless donkey.

What’s the difference like?!

One grew up on parmos.

You’d think Swansea would be the one with his ex gaffer.

Btw I’d love to see us take a punt. Let’s not forget mogga wanted vardy when he was at Fleetwood but the club balked at the 1 m fee at the time.

No - not as a first choice alternative to what we have anyway. Might be worth a punt as a prospect but we probably don’t have the money for that and a first choice striker
