Langstaff move

Bojan Miovski at Aberdeen is worth a look , scores regularly , age 24 , runs all day, has a trick , full international .
Lawrence Shankland is older at 28 but a poacher who could suit.
Kwame Poku PUFC worth considering.
Mojmir Chytil CF S Prague
All would be before Langstaff for me , but not against giving him a chance. Just because he is a Boro lad shouldn't come into it , see Hugill as an example.
With money tight I expect us to replace Lenihan with someone MC wants and us using the Loan market .
Zack Steffan GK if fit
David de Gea GK - without a club - 2 month contract .
Jhon Duran CF Villa
Tim Iroegbunam CM Villa
Connor Coventry CM WHU
Kieffer Moore CF AFCB
Chris Mepham CH AFCB
Charlie Cresswell CH leeds
Daniel Jebison CF Sufc
Michael Obafemi CF Burnley
Alex Cochrane Hearts CM LB worth buying , with Coulson to them . Would protect Engel or Bangurra or cover them , but is decent in CM and be a successor to Howson .

As someone who has not watched him play at all, I am unable to comment on the most suitable breed of dog comparable for his pace.

However, You would hope Kieran Scott and the team are looking at a minimum Jack Russell or fingers crossed a Borzoi level.
He`s always like a dog after a bone, but I cant see him adapting to the Championship.
If he was 20, he might be worth a punt, but he`s nearer thirty.

Bernie Slaven came from a league that was part time, he played in front of 400 regular fans. He probably stepped up five leagues to play for us. He was nearly 25 when he signed. He obviously improved when he came to England. The issue is can Langstaff improve. He has already proved he can score in Division 2 and the National League.

We do have Gilbert and Coburn as development strikers and possibly Rogers and Silvera. We signed Gilbert ans paid a small fee and he had no scoring record. My thoughts is we need to strengthen the defence and midfield first.
I really don't see Coburn as a development striker. He is our No 1 surely?

Basham is crocked isn’t he?

I know Macauley and he’s a decent player but if he doesn’t score then he doesn’t do much. Not sure he’s at the required level but I would love to be proved wrong.

He is a huge Boro fan

I've watched him in quite a few games and I'd say he takes advantage of a combination of the opportunities created for him by his team, and the kind of space and time that 4th (and fifth) tier defenders tend to give him. And well done to him for that - he fits in well to the system his team provides and the league he's in.

As others have said though, he's not especially fast and for me he's more of a poacher than anything. I just don't think he'd get the benefit of the same kind of slack defending in the Championship, nor (with us anyway) get set up with nearly so many chances to score by team mates.

I could be wrong but I don't think he would do half as well in the Championship as he's done at lower levels. Having said that, even if he only scored half the number of goals that he does now, that would still be pretty decent.

We are most likely getting a striker from the MLS
Brandon Vazquez from FC Cincinnati - NOT Julián Carranza from Philadelphia Union

He will fill that missing spot we had from the summer.

Now.. the comings and goings.. three loan spots available but we might be top heavy with the over 21s..

Sam Curtis - 17yo - from St Patrick’s Athletic - the Irish RVBD
Celtic and Leeds also interested.. which might have a knock on effect for Nat Philips and Charlie Cresswell.
I think he will end up at Sunderland.. 100% looks like a Tony Mowbray signing.

Nathaniel Adjei - 21yo - Hammarby
Anderlecht, Leeds, Rangers, Middlesbrough.
Looks like a great signing.. surely it's between us and Leeds? Saying that.. his old boss is at QPR.. so it might be a no go.

Where does the movement come from? Hayden Coulson's stock is still high and he hasn't featured much, Bryant Bilongo has rocked up to 22 and might be loaned out to gain more experience.. I can't see Paddy McNair going anywhere this January..

So Hayden Coulson and Bryant Bilongo to go out on loan to bring in a right back on loan? and.. ONE OTHER Anfernee Dijksteel may move on?

or maybe not two players in the January window..

12 Nathaniel Adjei - Hammarby
20 Brandon Vazquez - FC Cincinnati

signed sealed and delivered.

And also many who have been at 19,18,17.
People are different and mature/develop differently.

Which contradicts your "If you are good enough then you are old enough." comment.

Coburn could mature/develop at 23 and become a great striker scoring 15 goals a season. Who knows.

No it doesn't, not at all.

Coburn is 20 and he IS good enough.
Other have been good enough at 17,18,19.

I think Coburn is already our best CF option we have.
