Lady Ayresome up in class for next race?

Glencroft was trained by David Chapman at Stillington, just outside Easingwold, was owned by Martin Wane (Light Blue, Light Green Sleeves, Black Cap) he won 9 Handicaps from 5 furlongs to a mile in 1988, that same season Chapman also trained Chaplin's Club for Peter Savill (Maroon, Light Blue Sleeves and Cap, Maroon Diamond) who won 9 handicaps over 5f and 6 furlongs, Chaplin's Club had also won 9 handicaps in the 1985 season and won his last race at Redcar in 1992.

I think Kevin Darley rode Chaplins Club to all 18 of those handicap success and that Stuart Webster was aboard Glencroft for most of his wins.
i thought Vindaloo held the most wins in handicaps for a season 🤔maybe it was all races including non handicaps

Vindaloo won 10 handicaps and a claimer in 98, trained by Jimmy Harris at Melton Mowbray and owned by David Abell (White, Light blue spots on body, Light Blue Cap, White Spots)

Jimmy Harris broke his back in a fall as a jockey and trained from a wheelchair.

What about the Gimcrack Stakes at York AM, that's got a history behind it hasn'tn't it ?
Or are you thinking of the classics ?

I can’t think of one off the top of my head, Laughing, Curley (Black, White Hooped Sleeves, Red Cap) was more a one off plotter than a sequencer and most of the horses I associate with him would be middle distance types. Glencroft was tubed but was a David Chapman horse, pretty certain he was with Chapman throughout his career as well.
My memory is shocking, it really is.

The form of the favourite in our race tomorrow, has been boosted by the easy winner of the National Stakes at Sandown yesterday, who beat her by a length when she made her debut recently. That’s the best form on offer but we are third favourite and go there with a chance. It’s very exciting for us to be in a race of this nature considering how long we have been going, and I just hope she can put a smile on our faces tomorrow. The race is live on ITV racing at 2pm.

Best of luck to all concerned. Having looked at the factors, the draw could not have been more unkind. It will be tough but not impossible winning from there. I hope she is fine with the underfoot conditions too.

All in all it is exciting to be involved in a race of such ranking, enjoy, and If Lady Ayresome wins today from that draw, she will be something special and Royal Ascot would surely be on the cards? Best of luck to everyone. 🐎
