Labour Party finally has a credible leader again

Refreshing indeed to see an opposition politician with compassion, and he'll be excellent.
He's committed Labour to working with the government during this pandemic, but vowing to "shine a light" onto any situations which need highlighting and consideration. Common sense prevailing, unlike his predecessor Corbyn, who hated and rejected anything that tinged on being Tory, even in this crisis.
Let's get through this awful period, together, wearing purple rosettes neither red nor blue.

I think I saw a statement saying 17 women and 15 men in the main cabinet. (Updated the numbers - ta to Malaguena.)

Has anyone seen an analysis of his cabinet in terms of position in the broad church?

Starmer has done everything right so far, his choice of Shadow Cabinet is very good and has a good mix of experience and promise and left and central wings of the Party, he has come across well in interviews and given the right balance on how an opposition leader should be at a time of crisis, in a way Covid allows him to find his feet out of the spotlight which means he won’t be under the scrutiny others have been.

I thought after Miliband the party needed something radical and to offer different policies and direction to the Conservative’s that shift has occurred and now is the time to present a more orthodox leadership to the electorate.

I liked Corbyn and what he stood for. Credibility is very much in the eye of the beholder, though I accept lots of folks didn't find him credible. A reflection on them I think.

As someone who thought Labour needed to shift towards left and become clearly defined in what it stood for Corbyn did that, the problem was his past activities as a fringe back bencher made him an easy target to demonise once he became leader, mud sticks and to many he was a divisive figure, I don’t think his own members helped in their treatment of him but at times he didn’t help himself either, anyway the Crobyn era has gone let’s look forward to what the Starmer era brings.

Looks like you know more about this than than me. Is it possible for your to list the cabinet with a brief statement of their position on their centre to left scale? Or point to something that does it? Ta.

I will wait to see what his policies are on housing and public services. Corbyn was perfectly credible as a labour leader. I think a lot of people want someone who will protect their wealth and not make radical changes, but don't want to vote Tory.

Give me a bit Spanishman and I’ll do my best, however when you have Miliband and Long-Bailey in there it gives an idea of the ideological spectrum.

Listening to keir this morning and how refreshing to hear a clear concise authoritative leader in charge of the opposition party again.

and that is good for everyone

Leading the march for fairness here fella 'Keir' v 'Boris' (better than Starmer v Boris) ;)

Depends where your scale starts SM
If it starts with the current government everyone else is at least centre and most would be centre left ;)

I didn’t realise she was in but giving her education is a clever step as he has incorporated all three leadership candidates ( including himself)
