That's what he has been angling at ever since the thread started, just hasn't outright said it. It's ridiculous.

I see Dagenham have suspended Zouma's brother, should we compare punishments between West Ham and Dagenham now?

If it had been a player at another club he wouldn’t have been asked about it.

You think it’s ‘whatabouttery’ to suggest that there has been an overreaction over Kurt Zouma? Everybody has to take the same extreme blinkered view. No room for discussion. just accept what the foaming at the mouth masses are hurling out.

Not surprised in the slightest.

Kicking a cat seems to have generated more controversy than a raping a woman.

Does anyone remember Eden Hazard kicking that ball boy? Do you remember his fine? What length of prison sentence were people calling for? Petition? Sacked? Newsnight?

It’s worse because Kurt Zouma is black. We have football fans booing their own players for making an anti-racist gesture.. of course they are going to boo a black player who slapped a cat. “Throw the book at him”

I see our very own Melted Morrissey Bernie Slaven has jumped on the band wagon.. didn’t the RSPCA get called on him for his peacocks? Pretty sure I remember a big sign being painted about him bothering lapwings with his dogs too more recently.

Doesn’t count though right. Birds and people are not cats and white footballers are not paid too much or uneducated..

I understand what he's getting at but you can be dismayed at both. It's not one or the other.

If there was a video (so the wider general public can see it) of a footballer blatantly being racist I'm sure it would get a much bigger reaction

That interview was a disgrace, why bring racism into something that has nothing to do with racism?
What he has done was terrible, trying to dismiss it because worse things happen is an unbelievable take on it. What a complete idiot

You could just admit he was wrong and leave it at that, not try to compare it to every other crime that was committed. Why even bring anything else up, it’s really not relevant

I could jump on the bandwagon and go completely over the top like everyone else.

I’m not comparing it to every other crime.

Why bring anything else up? For balance, for comparison to make sure a punishment would be fitting and appropriate to the level of wrongdoing.

That people are going over the top and it seems there is a racial element coming into the equation now.

You don’t seem to acknowledge it. So I can only assume you think that it is acceptable.

There is no constant deflection from me and there are a number of different issues that have come about as a result of the video going viral.
 
I think some of the other crimes you mention were under punished and under reported rather than this over the top. The outrage comes from the fact that no action has taken place.

A month suspension, criminal prosecution and people would stand down I think.

Greenwood is off the front pages as something has been seen to be done.

Best way West ham could have managed this was to suspend him, review the case, let the police investigate and be guided by the law for me.

More whatabouttery grow the hell up. Hazard didn’t kick the ball boy he kicked the ball from under the ball boy. Who was interfering in the game knew exactly what he was doing and wasn’t a complete innocent victim like the cat was.

I just have a feeling this poster is playing a game with a cause-celebre. He had done it before with defending the behaviour of the England fans storming Wembley at the Euro Final and with the lengths to which he banged on about the Warnock sacking and how injuries prevented his success. And with this thread he picks a topic against the general tide of opinion and takes the opposite view - I bet his favourite film is 12 Angry Men.

I don’t know if he really means what he says frankly or he is just bored.
