Kobbie Mainoo

Makes everything look effortless. He is my favourite type of midfielder - tracks back and makes great tackles, can pick up the ball and take in 30 - 40 years with ease and puts himself in and around the box and can finish as well.

A serious, serious talent and seems very grounded and mature. A joy to watch
Mainoo has been fantastic, I honestly can't remember having a midfielder for England who does what Mainoo does.

He reads the play, plays intelligent forward passes and is so good technically when surrounded in tight areas. I think he is the player that people wanted Scholes to be.
Has a look of Xavi / Iniesta about him with his ball retention and Tiki tacki passing.
Been a joy to watch so far..Those turns in tight spaces and direct running at the dutch last night were brilliant.
Absolute revelation last season and this competition. Probably the most complete midfielder England has produced. Love watching him.
I'm so pleased for him. I felt he should have been in the side right at the start of the tournament but at least Southgate gave him a chance in the third game, and he hasn't disappointed.

I can see him joining Bellingham at Madrid in a few years time.
In the first half against Netherlands we regularly won the ball back before the Dutch got as far as the centre circle. it was nearly always Mainoo's doing.
Seems a long time ago Southgate complaining about not having a replacement for Phillips. Wonderful player.
Again, credit Southgate. He’s now one of the first players in most of our England teams. It was him who brought him in and gave him a chance. He had other options.
