King Charles III

I was very young so don’t remember too much
Well I can assure you that Parker Bowles was despised by most people, certainly by royalists. Mind you half the country went mental then. People literally howling and crying outside Buck House and angry at the Queen. Imagine. Or read up on it.

The Charles out debate on here reminds me of the NW out debate.
Pointless argument.
He went when he went.
Could Charles be the first UK president. He’s been trained up. Then next someone on the Irish model rather than a one like Macron, Trump or Putin who can dictate without much challenge.
After Charles’ death the next Head of Comminwealth could be a wise old owl from Africa, the Caribbean or south seas etc.
The foreshore and royal forests etc should remain sovereign and free from capitalists and speculators.

I wasn't, the funeral ruined my big weekend with friends before moving to the states for a few years. Camilla was utterly hated for her part in the destruction of Diana. Talking about killers is irrelevent, people hated Dirty Den and Nasty Nick from Big Brother. Comparing to soap operas and reality TV 'stars' is a better comparison. People still hated those people.
YES It’s certainly been quite a come back as PR exercises go.

The “grandmother speech” that basically saved the situation was written by allistair Campbell

C III R
sounds a bit Star Wars
“I am your father Luke.”

I’m looking forward to some boro threads n all

Reminds me of my favourite royal fact

Did you know the moment Charles the first realised that he had lost his trial and therefore his crown.

He banged his cane on the floor and the top came off and fell on the floor…

No one moved

So after a short pause as the crowd looked On he realised he’d have to bend down and pick it up himself

Apparently This was the first time he’d picked anything up as there was always a servant to do it for him.

Btw that hall in parliament where Charles the first trial was held is the same building where the current queen will lie in state next week.

That is entitlement, class and privilege in a nutshell and why these people should be ousted. Who on earth treats a fellow human being in this way, who on earth refuses to pick something off a desk and move it but instead berates someone else to do it for them.
Why do you find this funny alex? Why do you support someone being unwilling to move an object on a desk and berate someone for not doing it for them? That's a really odd thing to find funny. Why do you have such disdain for the common man?

You’re going way OTT mart.

am I

I find laughing at a jumped up monarch, treating his staff like dirt way OTT. I'd call it cultist when someone can't accept that behaviour as childish, spoilt, entitled and wrong.
How do you know how he treats his staff? You’ve seen a ten second clip.

Yup, Tony Blair had to basically tell the queen she was being petty and vindictive and needed to get out and make a statement or face the hatred of the people. How many days did she sit in her castle refusing to show any respect for her ex-daughter-in-law who had tragically died so young.
