Kicking the ball out

Can't stop play for a player down like that these days. 9/10 times its someone feigning injury so kicking the ball out or the ref stopping play just encourages even more cheating.

When he was on the ground he kept looking where the ball was. If their defence had hoofed it up front he would have been straight up. As it was he was running fine after the restart. We and the ref were quite right to play on.
