Kendrick Lamar at Glastonbury

An absolutely outstanding performance. Even if it’s not your preferred genre of music, you can still appreciate a performance and the craft.

I thought Kendrick was excellent. I think rappers can be difficult to watch for 2 hours without an ensemble of other rappers and singers.

Kendrick just had contemporary dancers and was quite mesmerising in my opinion, especially as I've avoided watching him when he's been on at festivals I've attended.

Recorded it to watch today. Got to admit that for the first time ever I haven't known who one of the main performers are let alone their songs .
Getting old.

I was listening to Lendrick Lemar before he hit the big time. Downloaded some of his mix tapes off datpiff.com. his early stuff was fantastic. If your a fan of rap listen to his version of 6ft 7ft or cartoons and cereal.

Yeah I thought that.

Was looking through Sunday’s line up and I don’t think there’s anyone I’d actually want to pay to go and see at a gig.

Think I’d just end up wandering around getting smashed 👍🏻
You looked through all 50 stages and couldn't find anything you like?

If you didn't want to watch KL a trip to the Other Stage for the Pet Shop Boys would not have disappointed even if you are not a fan.

If you want to compare value just have look at the comparative cost of going to one of the other "big" festivals and the choice you would have there. Take Latitude, headliners are Lewis Capaldi, Foals and Snow Patrol for a very similar (last time I looked) £250ish.

It seemed to me there were a lot of older people who defaulted to pet shop boys to avoid lamar, who judging by the crowds reaction to the pet shop boys weren't necessarily big fans. theres something for everyone at places like Glastonbury but you had to dig deep find any quality this year.to me the festival seems to have lost is way appealing to the mainstream and then theres an older demographic to the festival goers . Diana ross was abysmal then you had pop acts like TLC and sugar babes who were garbage in the 90s and would have been entertained as acts then but some how are supposed to be great attractions today expect to see rachel stevens and steps as artists next year. Just be thankful ed sheeran wasn't headlining again.

You look at the young crowd going mental to Lamar and virtually everyone is white. Not that they cant enjoy his music but it must be a strange feeling for these black artists. Love the pet shop boys but the crowd looks indifferent incomparisson
Hip hop, rap, RnB, grime and dancehall have broken down racial barriers. Every colour, creed and race is represented in those genres now. Looking back on the history of those genres it's nothing short of brilliant how those genres have got more and more popular as the time has gone on.

Kendrick's performance was up there with Jay Z's previous Glastonbury headline set for me. Shows the world how far we've come as a society, still plenty of work left to be done mind.

Also slightly off topic, I read that the organisers had to stop people trying to get into the tiny tent McFly were playing in. Doesn't surprise me because as a band their live shows are full of energy with some catchy tunes if we're been honest.

Do you think? If a thought resonates I would be happy whoever is receiving it
