Keir Starmer - FoM now a red-line

I look at the DM web site every day, there is always something anti Labour or anti Starmer - usually based on the themes of kneeling, immigration, race, unions and industrial action, law and order, NHS being rubbish, Brexit and Corbyn/Abbot.

Starmer is not getting a free ride in any shape or form and they will turn the screw as the election approaches.
I couldn't look at the DM site each day, it would make me sick, but fair play to you for keeping an eye out. It's good they're anti-Starmer, kind of proves the point that Starmer isn't Tory-lite etc.

What is even better is that Starmer gives them very little to go at, as most of what Starmer is saying just makes sense (especially for now), which appeals to most Labour voters and most of the centre. They're struggling to target his character too, which will be important as the election approaches.

When I made that joke I did not expect it to be taken seriously by SuperStu. He launched a tirade off the back of it and said I and the rest of the country were basically confused and gullible. Now that I've made it clear it was a joke (in response to a Bumface joke) SuperStu looks really silly doesn't he?

A tirade :ROFLMAO: you're absolutely desperate aren't you gadge.

The Mail is anti-humanity. The last thing it was in favour of was the Blackshirts.

Not really mate, you keep fighting for your revolution but you must be really embarrassed by this. You've had an absolute shocker 🙄.

It says to me that you underestimate others and that you have an inflated opinion of yourself. Quite happy to call me confused and rambling when in fact the joke is on you.

"I mean look at this thread. You've got confused guys rambling on about Corbyn wearing IRA tshirts. Thats when a news story has been hammered home - when it reaches a point people are making up their own exaggerated versions and steadfastly believing them."

If you think the Mail is bad, you should see the express…..but it’s so stupidly Tory it’s not worth acknowledging.

The problem with making a post like your IRA t shirt one without any emoji is that people do believe it. You see it all the time on social media, where people repost stuff that is obviously false or photoshopped or edited, believing it to be true.

I have absolutely no time for the Royal Family, especially Charles and his missus, but yesterday on twitter there was footage of Camilla Parker Bowles seemingly being racist to a little girl on a school visit and in the comments below, people were soaking it up.
I found the full film on YouTube and it told a totally different story, showing a woman being kind and tender toward the children.

The point is, if someone makes a post like that and it goes unchallenged, people either believe it or believe that the poster has been duped, especially when it comes to JC because there have been so many falsities circulated about him that people are happy to spread.

I totally agree, it's very easy to be taken in by 10 seconds of edited footage that removes context or changes what was actually said or a simple photoshopped picture.

Where you duped by something similar when you said Keir Starmer going off message about Brexit at the Labour conference caused the collapse for support in the Red Wall? Also that he should've been sacked for it.

You seemed happy enough to declare that this was totally unknown to Corbyn, McDonnel and McCluskey despite the fact that Corbyn said Labour would do exactly the same thing a week before.

You keep pushing this point but it's actually in Len McCluskey's book. He was heavily involved with the process at the time, and he said that neither he nor Corbyn had any idea of Starmer's intent. Not a ten second edited clip but a statement from somebody who was deeply immersed in Labour's plans.

Ah right so I'm the problem now, or at least my post is. Not Bumface's post about Corbyn liking jam or the photo of him with the marrow?

Having argued, debated, discussed the Labour Party with you SuperStu and others over the years you didn't think that my credentials were sufficient enough to preclude me from being confused, rambling and gullible?

Look, nice try at a defence of SuperStu's absolute whopper but you fell well short.

So you believe everything that Len McCluskey said in his book, even when confronted with the views of Jeremy Corbyn himself a week before Starmer made his conference speech in which he basically said the same thing?

You took this and then developed an attack line on Starmer, effectively blaming him for Labours heavy defeat.

SuperStu seems to know an awful lot more about what's happened within the party since Starmer became leader than you do mate. You lot always ignore that stuff. Scrote has spelled it out to you a million times and you refuse to see it. Scrote has the patience of a saint. He just rips to you bits without getting aggressive. I can't do that. I get too angry. That's why I usually stay away from these threads.

I beg to differ actually mate. SuperStu only takes in what he wants to. Reciting shiite off twitter isn't knowing what's going on in the party. And as far comments about Scrote, you've crossed a bit of a line with me there. You talk about usually staying away from these threads which you might do but once you're on one you just come across as some bitter individual spouting a load of b***ks. If you want to give it, expect some back from me in return.

All I'm saying is that when posts like that are made without clarification, people may believe it and SuperStu may have thought you also believed it. It happens every day on social media, especially where Corbyn's name is mentioned. Things get recycled so often that they become 'the truth.' Look at the number of people who say to this day that Corbyn would have been a Putin lackey, even though he was the first on Putin's case, repeatedly warning Tony Blair in the early 2000s not to meet him or invite him over to meet the Queen and despite him sponsoring and signing early day motions against Putin and calling for a freeze on Russian assets.

Is this one of the situations where context matters or where we can't deny whatever your opinion is?

Basically the same thing  you don't think Corbyn saying a referendum which he'll stay neutral on and Starmer saying a referendum in which the Labour party would campaign for remain (and therefore against their own renegotiated deal) is a pretty important one?

You can beg to do whatever you like mate. You have no answers. You can't take people disagreeing with you, and then you have a bit of a hissy fit and occasionally get put on the naughty step because you go too far. Scrote knows his stuff. You should maybe try to listen to him. It would help you to understand why those of us on the left are so peed off.
