The initial shot was blasted at him from about in line with the penalty spot - he did well to parry it and could hardly have parried it sideways.

I'm no fan of him but for me the fault lies with the defence (esp McNair) for allowing the striker to have a free run on goal.

That was me, although I felt he had a few decent games after that.

Either way, the stats and many watchers seem to indicate he’s not having a good season, so when a game comes along like this he will inevitably get blamed where another keeper might be given more leeway.
 
I know I'm in the minority but I don't want McNair anywhere near our defense next year.

He's OK at going forward and taking set pieces but he makes any defensive partners look shaky and I don't like Middlesbrough players conning refs every game when he dives down on the ball like a fanny after feeling the breath of an opponent on his neck..

I reckon Ben Gibson would become available when the canaries have some serious prem money to spend.

We could recreate a resolute Teesside pairing with him and Dael in the mould of Maddren/Boam or Mogga/Pally. The pair of them would help bring through Nate Wood better also.
 
Gibson is going to Norwich for 7mill isnt he, all agreed already apparently as long as Norwich get promotion.
