Kay Burley

I think she has kids which would suggest that some poor sod has actually shagged that!
Proving that you can be as equally nasty in opinions as her.

I am no fan of Kay Burley. Her treatment of the demonstrators and in particular David Babbs of 38 degrees when she interviewed him on College Green some years ago was appallingly bias. Later she showed incredible bias in an interview with Ed Milliband whilst treating David Cameron like a friend. You live by the sword you die by it although going for a pee in a neighbouring restaurant when you’re desperate isn’t the greatest Covid breach I’ve seen in the last few weeks.

Are you ignoring the fact that she was out with a group of ten and four of them went back to her home. The pee story is the cover story for the fact they went on to another club after the 11 pm curfew.

I’m not defending her. it was a breach. My office colleagues went to a restaurant for a business lunch yesterday. 12 of them. The place was full of diners in large groups. It’s going on all over London. In fact you can dine up to a group of 30! What a glorious ridiculous loophole that is.

30 really, aren’t they meant to be part of your family though?

This is a great story, surely untenable position now to be baiting people daily about covid rules.

Went to a second restaurant after 11 o clock and because she was caught now saying she popped in to use the toilet. Hmmm. There was 10 of them and Beth Rigby was part of the group. 4 of them also then went back to hers to continue the party! Couldn’t have happened to a nicer person.

Sky now carrying out an internal investigation.
Internal investigation-that's a bit gross isn't it!

A few people suggesting that she spent up to 2 hours in the second restaurant.
Also, Sky saying that she will be away until January at least - suggesting that there is more to come from all of this??

Definitely - problem is she’s already tied herself up with a lie - does she keep lying or come clean.

She was due to be on leave next week anyway so just this week she is missing for now. Maybe they’ll hide her away until after Christmas and hope it dies down.

Apparently she was in Coventry last night ready to cover the vaccine roll out but was called back to sky HQ to face the music.

“Celebrities” like her and other journalists, pop stars, footballers, etc. Would not even feel a £10,000 fine, let alone £200. The only thing that will work with these “celebrities” is decent jail time and losing their jobs.

Pretty sure thats just a cover story, and surely a breach is a breach. If we all thought, "nah its only a minor breach, it'll be fine" then we'd all be locked up for......... oh hang on....

The Sky News presenter Kay Burley has been withdrawn from consideration for a prestigious TV award and will stay off-air for the rest of the week after hosting a birthday party that broke coronavirus regulations, the Guardian understands.
Burley, arguably the channel’s most high-profile presenter, was allegedly summoned to meet Sky’s HR team and did not present her usual breakfast slot on Tuesday after it emerged that she and a group of nine others went to two venues in Soho, London, to mark her 60th birthday. A smaller group reportedly returned to her home to continue the celebration.

The Guardian understands that two of the group signed non-disclosure agreements on Tuesday as Sky moved to limit damage from the row.

Not just kay either

Political editor Beth Rigby, north of England correspondent Inzamam Rashid and presenter Sam Washington are also off air while the inquiry takes place.

Pretty big hole that

Again goes back to my point about venues that allow these “business gatherings” and they don’t come in for criticism. I do not defend Burley and she has been rightly removed but it’s the high profile ones that seem to be highlighting this ridiculous business gathering loophole.

It's not the venues that should be criticised, it's the government for allowing a rule that enables such gatherings.

Ok take that point that a Government is allowing venues to breach the spirit of the rules and it hasn’t been called out strongly enough. It is not just an individual responsibility here that is at issue.

The venues should be criticised, she wouldn't be able to go if they were not open, they were probably claiming government help to help with been "closed"
Probably? Where did this happen? If it was in Tier 2 the venue was allowed to be open.

Can you believe she was in Coventry ready to goto the hospital to report on the first vaccines. That’s reckless! Suitably undeterred on twitter though mouthing off that she was due to be on holiday now anyway.
