Kasabian lead singer 'resigns'

Seen them live a few times a few years back. Great live band but stopped buying their albums after the awful Velociraptor ("he's coming at ya")

Run their course obviously.

Re-unite in 5 years and tour with their old stuff.

I actually loved that album. Switchblade Smiles, Days are Forgotten, Re-wired etc.

It was 48:13 that seemed to get poor reviews by critics.

Really? Great live band, one of my favourites I've seen, but their albums are mostly crap! I only like the first one.
I would agree with this. They know how to put on a performance alright! Some of their albums are not great though. That being said I do like “west Ryder ...” and think the self titled one was really good

Woman I worked with is a huge fan and is absolutely gutted.

When I worked as a Staff Nurse at the Friarage mental health unit I noticed one of our ward domestics was quiet. As the day went on a few people mentioned it to me as well.
I went into the kitchens to see her and she was sat in the corner sobbing her heart out. I asked what was wrong and every time she tried to tell me she let out this huge wail and the tears flowed .
Eventually I managed to calm her down enough for her to say...Robbieeeees left take that , I can't go on any moreeeee. Again she began to sob uncontrollably .
Being a right softy I let her go home but only after I checked her Mum was in to keep an eye on her

That clip must be one of the most vomit inducing pieces of melodrama I have ever had the misfortune to watch, That "sad" music is total guff. Their music lives on

Seen them three times at Glastonbury , firstly in 2004 when they opened up the other stage as an unknown band. Then headlining the other stage and then finally headlining the pyramid in 2014. That was one of THE headliner sets.

Hmm, well I think they're a great live band. If you don't like any of the songs though, why do you like them live?
To be fair they only had 1 album when I saw them live! There’s the odd song from there later stuff I like-Bless This Acid House and Comeback Kid that I can think of.

I always compared them to Queen, In that they are brilliant live but most of their albums are just a bit "meh" at best with one or two good tracks.

Luckily I saw them in smaller venues (Wolverhampton Civic Centre & Newcastle Academy twice).Great gigs, although the pint of pi$$ that landed on my brothers head at the Academy was a bit unnecessary

One of the more unlikable things about them is that unfortunately they attract the pi$$ throwing Oasis 'lads' as their core fanbase.

Every album they released was crapper than the previous one. That Velociraptor thing was a complete embarrassment. Surprised it got as far as actually being released. First album is top class though. Their decline coincided with the departure of Chris Karloff, who I think was one of the main songwriters, and it showed.

Think this is a fair comparison, but I do think most albums have 3-4 excellent tracks on. I thought Velociraptor had a number of good tracks (not the title track).

Yeah to be fair I was talking more about the song Velociraptor rather than the whole album. There is 2 or 3 really good ones on there. Switchblade Smiles is superb
