Kalvin Phillips

He shouldn't be anywhere near it.

He has been absolutely dreadful for West Ham and he has barely played any games before that.

I would honestly rather see someone like Lewis Cook get the nod above Phillips and I don't even think Cook should be near the squad.

Starting to think Stones should be used in midfield with Rice. Problem is that stops England’s best centre back playing as a centre back!

Phillips will definitely get in the squad as there is a lack of central midfielders to play alongside Rice.

It's up to someone else to make themselves impossible to ignore.

Phillips has not been good, by the squad must not be selected by default. We need a player to step up and take the place off him, not an "anyone but..." approach.

If the Euro 2024 squad was being named today, I very much doubt he would be in it.

He needs to get up to speed very quickly at West Ham now, but with his poor performances to date, he may find it difficult to stay in the starting line up. If he's not playing well by the end of the season, I am sure he won't be selected.

I honestly don’t think form will be an issue for his selection if he’s fit then I think he’ll go.

He was never technically good enough to play for a team like man city, i was amazed when they signed him and paid the money they did, comically overpriced
same as grealish

To be fair to Grealish. Although his price tag was ridiculous, he was a good signing as he fits in City's team.

Was and is he worth £100m? Probably not.

But there was no surprise he was a part of that incredible treble winning team last season. He was playing that well, that Foden couldn't nail a spot down in that side....and that says a lot!

Doku on the left just isn't cutting it, whilst Grealish is injured. City do miss him a little bit when he's not there as he recycles possession so effectively - which is huge in Pep's team.
