1982 Brazil: The Glorious Failure: The Day Football Died

1982 Brazil tells the story of football's most exhilarating and entertaining World Cup side. This scintillating Brazil team - blessed with Zico, Sócrates, Falcão, Éder and Júnior - lit up the 1982 World Cup with a brand of football that was 'futebol arte'. Playing to the accompaniment of a samba soundtrack

wow 🤩 if carlsberg wrote books then this is it for me.

Probably my favourite team ever (Boro aside of course)

I must be older than you as my favourite team ever(Boro aside of course) was the Brazil 1970 team. Pele, Jairzinho, Gerson, Tostão, Rivellino and Carlos Alberto, they were just an amazing team. The 1982 was very special as well.
I have loved Brazil since my Dad took me to see black and white reel to reel footage of the 1958 and 1962 World Cups. It was at the Town Hall Crypt in the early 60s and event ran by the Evening Gazette.

I don't remember anything much about the 1982 Brazil team.

1970 was the team that most football fans recall.

I suppose it depends on your age, I was 7 at the time of 82 WC and just remembered the colour of the Brazil team, playing football that just seemed to be perfect and players with one name was just mind blowing 😁

As I'm now slightly older I love 70 team and it is without question in my mind the greatest team that ever played football, but that 82 team will always be my favourite Brazil team

Yeah, 1970 team was before I was born. I’ve obviously seen video of them and Carlos Alberto’s goal to make it 4-1 in the final is my favourite team goal of all time. The way Clodoaldo strolls round 4 italians inside his own half without hardly touching the ball is just outrageous.
