Just caught 5 minutes of red nose day

I always think its an oxymoron having Lenny Henry associated with Comic Relief
It is the height of hypocrisy. Lenny Henry, along with David Lammy MP, complained that 'White Saviours' always helping Africans out was belittling to black people. Gee thanks for that! I won't watch it because of the hypocrisy. Also the amount of money that seems to be spent on armouring factions that are continuously at war with each other makes me quite cynical of the whole thing, sadly.

The only funny thing Lenny Henry has ever been in is Dawn French
Never found him amusing at all, ever. And it is nothing to do with the colour of his skin. I think when comedians shout a lot in comedy it just looks like a desperate attempt to be funny. I do admire his bravery in working the comedy circuit as a black man in the 1970s. That takes courage.

If you saw his act you'd think differently about courage , more Uncle Tom than Woke. Jim Davisons act was similar , cant think why Lenny changed his.....

Does it do so much good though?

or does it just perpetuate the idea of 'children in need' - and its all forgotten about for the rest of the year - until the next tax dodging *celebrity decides that their career needs a reboost. - enter that smug chunt gary barlow.

It has helped millions of people in this country and abroad.
It has helped hundreds of thousands of young people with mental health issues in this country. A similar number of women suffering from domestic abuse. It has donated millions of pounds to fund community projects in this country.

Abroad it has helped over 90 million people living in abject poverty, many of whom face the prospect of their child having a mortality rate of 50 percent until the age of 5. It has helped provide education and infrastructure, enabling people and communities to become self sufficient.

Its not perfect, and there will always be issues around rich celebrities urging others to give to charity but the idea it doesn't do any good is completely wrong.
