No,, the system is loaded for the buy to let market, The banks wouldnt lend to the renter. Its simple to fix really. But it wont be because everything is geared for a rich and poor world. its all about control, the working class are consumers, to be charged for everything for the benefit of a few.If someone is paying £600 p month rent for a 20k house they could afford to buy it. Sounds doubtful.
Nobody seems to be offended or feel patronised. People just disagree with the point you're making. Both in terms of expecting people to strike for a political cause (which, as people said, would make the strikes illegal). And with the mechanism you're proposing to improve living standards.Just reading through the tones of the thread and it does feel like people have been offended or feel patronised but as I have said that was not my intention I feel like I can see the struggles people are having daily and to be honest it’s devastating and depressing at the same time but the scariest thing for me is that there are no signs of anything improving, I might have overlooked the complexity but my motivation was putting it out in the open that something is very wrong in our society
The issue there is that it still wont adress the inceasing wealth of the super rich.Wouldn’t it be nice if instead of asking for pay rises they were instead insisting on reform of the tax system demanding lower taxes for all low earners ,proper change (real savings on tax)at the moment lower earners spend 70% of their income in tax in one form or another is there any wonder people are struggling and can you imagine the support the strikers would have from the lower paid public.
A couple of ideas
Raise the tax threshold to at 20k
Lower council tax ( based on earnings) raised for the higher earners accordingly
Reduce fuel duty and cancel the planned 23%rise coming in march
Cap house rents
People should be able to afford to live and save if they work instead of the system we currently have which is about to implode
This is actually exactly my point reforming the tax system so low earners keep more of their earnings which I mentioned using the 20k personal allowance as an example would effectively give approximately another 8k of tax free earnings to everyone but then take the same amount that that would cost of the wealthy through higher taxes for themThe issue there is that it still wont adress the inceasing wealth of the super rich.
I'm not talking about the better off middle classes, but the very wealthy that have become even wealthier over the last 15 years and yet they still pay little tax at best.
There is only so much wealth within the system and it needs to be re-distributed more evenly.
I have been a member for a good few years starting on the previous forum I don’t really do social media as I find it a bit intrusive I will finish off on this thread be saying I have only posted with good intention and haven’t made anything up I hope nobody took any offence I wish everyone wellI don't think it's true that houses are selling for 20k either. There will be one or two that go up for auction at that price, but in those circumstances they will need a lot of work doing. It's definitely not a common occurance and almost certainly not the case that houses will be selling at that price that people can just move in to.
The buy to let market needs stamping out though. That I agree with.
