At Liverpool for our last away game that season, I had tickets in a posh Liverpool box (through a client of friend) and there were a bunch of Liverpool posh boys (that line surprised me as well) who were saying what a joke it was that a rich owner could ruin a player's career by signing him for a crap team and it was why the premier league was a bad idea as anybody could afford good players now.
That whinge has turned out wrong for at least 2 reasons
Juninho had his career ruined so badly he won the world cup 5 years later
Look at how the premier league has redistributed the wealth.
He was a fantastic player that we were so lucky to see in his prime. How good would he have been in his third spell if he hadn't done his cruciate ligament in that preseason friendly.
