Josh Coburn

Balogun is more suited to Wilders style right now, and he is also England U21 number 9 and top U23 scorer. He's ahead of Coburn by some distance right now.
21s and 23s football is piffling compared to the Championship - especially at the back end of the season where everything is fought for tooth and nail. We might as well recall Akpom. I'm not saying categorically Balogun won't do well but it's a gamble.

It is, but Balogun has proven himself to be way too good at those levels, where as Coburn has done well at U23 and not played for England U21.

sTyle of play is important too. Coburn likes to stay off the ball and let his movement in teh box create chances. He isn't a close down type, and isn't quite strong enouhg yet for his hold up and give and go to develop....it will but he needs to phsyically mature.

Balogun looks a man already, moves as fast with the ball as without it, outmuscles players, looks to get on the ball and run at teams with pace and power. He is better suited right now, but Coburn if he continues in 18 months would be the perfect type to play alongside him.

England U21s is a big club racket and basically a holiday camp. They have Aidy Boothroyd as manager ffs.

I really hope you are right about Balogun - about him coming and being as good as you say.

Has anyone on here actually seen Balogun play?
I've seen him play for Eng U21s and seen highlights for Arsenal U23s. Looks a real talent, he looks like he can handle the step up physically, and if he's allowed to get on teh ball he has clear talent and an eye for goal. I'd be surprised if he doesn't make it as a prem quality CF, even a lower one.

It is not just Josh's goals, it is the positions he took up and the coolness of very different finishes.
That sort of instinct and positioning is rare and we should nurture it accordingly.

He appears to be easily the best finisher at the club.
Coburn a goal every 104 minutes in the Championship.
Sporar a goal every 470 minutes.

I know which one I'd be sending to Hartlepool 🤣
