Josh Coburn

I don't understand why Josh Coburn was dropped from the team after scoring goals and then from the squad when Sporar is not delivering and we are struggling for goals. He has not been given a sniff since Wilder came in despite him making a point of calling his name out when he first joined. Yesterday was crying out for somebody like him to make an impact but he wasn't even on the bench.

I don't think him or Uche fit the Wilder vision or formation. I guess no need for a target man. The fact he usually brings Hernandez on for Watmore says it all.

I would say the only one really to fall foul to the managierial change.

Sporar not scoring but has brilliant link up play. Reminds me of Kike.
And Coburn probably hasn't been given a sniff because Wilder has now seen him in training and realised he's nowhere near ready.

he's 19. he's basically 19th man atm, no reason to think he's not in Wilder's plans. he did also bring him on ahead of Uche at one point but he didn't make much of an impact.

Safe to say he would've buried that Watmore chance. No nonsense.

(but then again, so would most of us)

Neither Coburn nor "most of us" would've got into that position Watmore took up in the first place.

Coburn is young, there's no rush. He needs a loan in League 2.

He should be staying at the Riverside ready to come on probably as a "supersub" this season. I cannot think of anyone we have who has the energy and is more likely to score in the latter stages of a game.

I’m afraid my view on that is that he’s actually not all that good. He might be in time but his last performance was very, very poor. He is nowhere near as good as Sporar, goal record notwithstanding. He doesn’t deserve to be first choice.
Perhaps if he 'points' where he wants it he might be worthy of a start 😉

He needs loaning out.

Young, potentially promising, but he looked miles off it in the last home game he played and I can't see him getting enough game time this season to improve.

He's scored a few decent goals for us this season and I would love him to be a future fixture for us, so a successful loan could be vital to achieving that.

Pools is a perfect fit for him, knows the manager, still lives In the area, And learns his trade against some hardened players who will test him.

Hartlepool would be an ideal loan if he were to get game time.

Wilder has already said he'd be more than happy to loan players to them if it benefits both clubs.
Only question is whether Coburn would see League Two as too big a drop.

I couldn’t careless whether Coburn thinks it’s too big a drop or not. He’s not a guaranteed starter at League One level. He goes where we tell him knowing that it’s clearly within his best interests.

I'd say Pools would be a decent move. He could still live at home and go and get some games with someone he knows and knows him.

If he's that good then go out and show it. He could get 10-12 goals for them and keep them up or midtable. Also bulk him up a bit in a 'proper league'. He's better off doing that then the U23s.

I'd happily keep him. I think Uche is more likely to leave (as its for money) and I'd like Coburn as a 'plan B' as we won't have height (even though we don't play that way).

I think we should also explore the possibility of sending players abroad on loan. A wider scope of playing styles and cultures can only be a good thing instead of just putting loans players in a **** poor Scottish League or a blood and thunder League two team.
