Jorgen Strand Larsen

£7.5m.....deduct the Mel Morris money, Forest / Spence loan money, pay in installments......he's virtually a free transfer 😁😁.
Very little risk IMO unless he is absolute dogsh*t - like Gestede bad.
Never heard of him until yesterday so I'll have to wait and see.
It’s an exciting one though. There is something about Scandinavians and English football that just works

Let’s just wait and see before jumping to conclusions. Lad could be the absolute business for all we know.
You’re right he might be a brilliant signing - he might also turn out be the Dutch version of Rudy Gestede. The point is we can’t afford to speculate that much on someone who is basically an unknown quantity in this league

Be interesting to hear what the actual fee is? We obviously feel we can't get any permanent deals done for promising strikers in this country as they are too expensive, so are looking overseas. A gamble - be interesting to see if it pays off. However it's clear as day that we need decent strikers and this is viewed as the best way by those at the club.

I cant think of a worse manager than WGS, so that's not a particularly high bar to set!

And Monk didn't get the bullet for the club's position in the league table, however modest it was, it was other 'issues' connected to transfers, which he refutes of course.

Pulis' football was so bad I gave up watching, after having a ST since around 86. It was turgid and destroyed any joy I got from watching my team play to be blunt.
Whilst I understand your frustration if you are a fan you stick with the team through the good and the bad, there have been worse times in boros history than pulis of that am sure.
To give up a season ticket is a bit over the top, whether you agree with an appointment or player or not on match day you turn up and support your team, cause thats what being a fan is all about, the ups and downs, just imagine steve gibson oes reas this board and sees the way some fans react to every little thing, Imagine he give up being a fan/supporter and putting his money into the club.

That’s just it the others were bad but it was only under pullis I questioned why do I bother as just wasn’t enjoying it.

To play football with no intention of winning or even scoring was soul destroying. In the end I kept the faith but it was close.

Looking at his bare stats, he's got a bit of improving to do to become a 1 in 2 striker (get 20 goals). I can't believe we will be paying 7.5M for him. I would have thought more likely about 3M plus add-ons. Similar to Forss.

He scored 17 goals in 35 league and cup appearances last season, albeit in a weaker league than the championship. What i would like to know is if the club have been watching this lad for a while or is it more of a panic buy because we can’t get who we want over in this country

I’d like us to be linked to a player anyone has actually heard of.

Lots what ifs going on here

Let’s hope it works 😬

He will if Coburn goes out on loan and Watmore and Akpom leave.

Our strike force could look very different in a week or two…

Forss
Larsen
Hoppe
Muniz
We need at least one with some form of getting double figures in this league . It’s nice to have potential but if we’re realistically aiming too 2 we need the form of the likes of Armstrong . I do believe in muniz mind

I hope one of these physical big strikers has a bit of pace. Not sure Forss has or Hoppe. Not sure of Muniz - he looked okay speed wise, but not quick. The Norwegian fella - will have to wait and see. What makes gyokores potentially so good is that he has a bit of pace to get away from players, has physical strength, decent touch and good work rate, and of course, can finish (the main requirement). I doubt any of the guys we are buying/looking to buy have all these attributes. We've lacked anyone with real pace up front for a long time.

Gyokeres was nothing that special when Coventry acquired him. You have to give credit to Mark Robins and his staff for that.
